Has anyone been able to kill all enemies alone. I find that you need some sort of crowd control when playing alone or you will get beat down quick, or have interrupted combos everywhere. The hydra helps tremendously in that regard and he still has his normal pistol for his usual melee attacks.

ARG, i hate this board. i just lost a long post i wrote because "the webpage has expired" bullshit.

here we go again...

here: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm6499492 is an example of why Midnight Wesker is a beast. (hopefully you have a nico video account. if not, sign up!)

not for the novice for sure. this is advanced stuff. ive been trying it for the past few days, and im only just starting to get halfway decent at the technique.

but looking at the original teir rankings in the OP, they seem kind of arbitrary. look at the top 50-100 ranks for the first three stages (PA, Mines, and Village), STARS Wesker is scattered throughout, and dominant on the Village stage. BSAA Jill is practically nowhere to be found.

i havent thoroughly checked all of the ranks for every stage, but im guessing that BSAA Jill shouldnt really be placed two teirs above STARS Wesker in solo mode anyways.

speaking of the Village, that stage is hard! guys with shields that leap at you, distance attacks via melee, arrows and spears, and tight quarters make this stage a real hard one to master. i look forward to putting in some hours to try and get a decent score there. tough stuff!

nope, ive come within a few bodies in Duo, but not really in solo. hard to do, but obviously key in getting the really high scores.

im working on it!

I personally think S.T.A.R.S Wesker is a character to use for fun, while Midnight Wesker is a character to use if you want super high scores. I don't really find seeing the same melee animation over and over to be fun. Now blowing away majini with a hydra on the other hand...

This might be a stupid question, but how do I navigate that website to see the video?

I thought there would be more to it then simply Midnight meleeing well, because I don't think a few seconds from a melee attack make too much difference (but after thinking about it some I realize that every second would count), that's all. All he needed to do was say that that was all there was to it, and give some explanation as to why it's so important, like, you know, he is SUPPOSED to do by leading a thread like this, he didn't need to be so rude and bring up irrelevant facts, and say I'm a fool when I've had the game just as long as he has. =_=

Not to mention he DID say

Quote:
FEEL FREE TO DEBATE THEM

He basically called me out into an argument that, quite honestly, I don't even care about. I could care less about mercs in RE5, it's just a little thing that is there to play for fun to me.

He DID explain everything in the original post. Again, if you didn't read and comprehend the entirety of the original post, is that his fault? He blatantly made it clear that melee is the 'key' to mercenaries and stressed it's importance in getting high scores.

You keep arguing on about how he was wrong for what he did instead of just explaining as much, but, failing to realize that he DID explain as much and yet you jumped in trying to debate something based on ignorance.

Your entire argument was based on a fact that he had already refuted and in his original post. Thus you were debating out of ignorance with no base for your argument and no sense of actually wanting to debate because you weren't even listening to the other person to begin with before sharing your own views, else you'd have seen your view was already shot down before you posted it.

Thus his post was mostly warranted because you weren't even listening to what was said but were still trying to argue against it. That is both ignorant and arrogant. And so you received a rather arrogant reply in return.

You also say you don't think a few seconds from melee would matter yet he BLATANTLY explained WHY it matters so much and is the main strategy of mercs in his original post. Yet again, you keep going on trying to argue about how if he had 'just said' this and 'just said' that you wouldn't be arguing etc. Yet he DID 'just say' this and 'just say' that, in his original post. And you completely ignored it and replied anyway trying to 'debate' the tier list, then go on to say in your following posts how you 'do' know what your'e talking about and 'did' read what he wrote etc. When you've proven without a shadow of a doubt, that no, you did not.

Again, I'm not trying to attack you. I like you Areku. You're a nice guy. But, I'm trying to put it into perspective for you because clearly you're only focusing on the 'he was mean to me' aspect of this and nothing more and feeling just in your views because of that, rather than trying to understand that you instigated the arrogant reply with your own arrogance and ignorance in your original post.

Think of it like this.

If I went on to make a HUGE speech about how we're moving the forum and everything will be changing etc. etc. But, went on to stress NUMEROUS times that you will not lose your post count, avatards, information etc.

Then you come into the topic and ask "Oh man this sucks! I don't want to lose my post count!"

Obviously, after I spent all that time trying to stress the facts to you, and you came in and just ignored everything I said and jumped to click reply and post something I already covered and proved was not the case, you're going to pretty much warrant me being rather annoyed with you and tell you something like:

"Can you not READ? The first post BLATANTLY states you will not lose your post count. Please READ in the future before jumping to reply."

Which can be taken as 'rude' and snobby. But, again, you instigated it by being ignorant and arrogant by not reading what I said and then posting something I already covered in return.

It's no different than all those topics everyone HATES on gamefaqs and other boards where it's the SAME question and view posted 600 times in 600 different topics, because people are too damn lazy to read and just click reply. People get ANNOYED at that, and thus reply with a less than friendly tone.

So again, you didn't read, or if you did read, you failed to comprehend it. Reading words on the screen means little if you don't take them to heart and understand what is being said. And you posted your reply that you did anyway. Thus you got the less than friendly reply you did.

If you're trying to make a point about someone not reading, or not comprehending, a huge wall of text is surely not the way to go about it?

I was angry last night and wasn't really thinking straight, now that I am I can post with better wording so you can hopefully understand me.

I merely said that I disagreed due to the tactics I have used with stars wesker, he seems much easier to get high points with for me, maybe I just haven't mastered meleeing (I'm just now starting to be able to clear out the maps completely), but anyway,...

I understand why he may be deemed better for points now, but at the time I didn't, because I didn't think meleeing was that important, and felt that even though midnight did get a time boost from being able to melee over, and over, and over, I figured in the end it would be more or less equal to Stars Wesker just blowing everything up quickly, bad logic on my part I suppose, though I have seen STARS Wesker be placed very high on the leaderboards recently, so that affected my judgement a little too.

And I know your not attacking me, and I like you as well...but can we please drop this now? =/

not a stupid question at all.

there is a slightly out of date tutorial here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=206874 that helped me figure it out.

it took me awhile to find the actual button to register, and the form you need to fill out is slightly different, but its not too hard. just takes some patience. if that dosent help, just try googling the instructions, or maybe someone here with knowledge of Japanese can help out.

the video is worth it.

Thx for the help! And yes, that video is amazing, and basically the reason why Wesker Midnight is arguably the best character in Mercs. To say the least though, playing like that does get repetative
