Biohazard Clan Master

I'm reserving a topic to cover this Japanese exclusive Biohazard mobile game developed by Gloop and Capcom. It's been up and running since October, so there is a lot of content to go over.

If you have a Japanese Yahoo! account and sign up for Mobage, you can scan the QR codes here on the official site and should be able to register to access the game:
http://www.bio-cm.jp/pc/news/info.html#tab02

It does not necessarily require a Japanese phone, only a Smartphone/Iphone(you can even play it on an Ipod Touch) but will remind you to authenticate your account with a Japanese phone number, which may inhibit you from participating in certain events later on. I have yet to encounter any major problems with it. The browser occasionally crashes on my Ipod Touch, but upon loading the browser up, it saves your place.

Clan Master is an optionally cooperative social game much in the vein of Outbreak Survive.
It functions like a fancy browser-based text mmorpg game.
I believe Clan Master is molded more after another game by Gloop/Mobage, and well, has brand spankin' new graphics created for it in comparison to Outbreak Survive, which just borrows art already existing from the Biohazard games. It is free to play, but has a shop system.

You choose a character type, explore through various areas from the games which are split up into episodes(15 so far, and goes up to RE4, except in the case of events); fight bosses, level up, participate in events where you can earn new characters or equipment, or join clans and do group battles.

They even created a background story(so it can be canonically plausible Capcom? lol), but all of it exists as a big paradox anyways.

Story:
Official version:

Vasilisk seems to be a bio-quantum computer capable of simulating outbreaks like Raccoon City by utilizing and re-integrating any data in the world(something about linking all human consciousness there by doing so). It was developed by two Umbrella researchers, Brian and Alexander.

It's just a creative way of explaining a game where you can visit any time in RE, battle the monsters and play as any of the characters. Just all for fun.

Clans
When you start BCM, you are prompted to either join an existing clan or create your own. You must choose one of 3 group types, which designates the starting character you are given to utilize(no matter what you choose, you still have the chance of earning the other two characters later in the game). When in group battle against other clans, you receive clan points that cause your group type leader(a basilisk program) to mutate into a new form and allow your clan to become more powerful. Because I dont participate in the clan battle feature, I am unsure whether this grants bonuses to your characters or not. The clan leaders are based on the 72 demons from Ars Goetia.

Prologue:
When you choose your starting clan/character, you'll be contacted by Hunnigan to investigate the mansion beyond the Arklay Forest:

Episodes
Each of the stages from various sections of the RE universe are divided up into episodes, 3 per game. Within each episode are 3 mapped out areas, each lettered point a sector of it's own you must explore in order to move forward. Exploration is linear, except in the case of special events. The blue marker is your place on the map, and red marks the appearance of a boss. Once you clear the 3 maps, you can move on to the next episode. Episodes that you have already finished can be revisited.

About obtainable characters:
When you traverse each of the stages, there will be a certain roster of characters with a set rarity and chance ratio you can obtain at random when you confront the grey or red-hooded beings wandering the areas. Grey hoods will always give you characters no matter what, but they are usually very common original characters(Vasilisk agents) or weak enemies. Occasionally, you have the chance to get a rarer RE character/creature. With the red hoods, while you will be granted one of the rare characters in relation to the episode, the chance of getting them through the normal method(using your weapon) is the same as trying to receive them from the grey hoods. By buying the vaccine item through the game store, or receiving one from an event and using it on the red hoods, you are 100% guaranteed to get a rare character. (otherwise, the reds are just a great annoyance)

The story behind the hooded beings is that they are characters that have ended up in the Vasilisk simulation and have lost their sanity. It may have something to do with the P30-like control device on their chest(which shines when you "hit" them and reveals the character underneath) and/or the viral properties of the bio-computer itself has infected them. So by using the vaccine gun on them, they regain their stability.

Good thread, good read!

Always meant to do something similar for Biohaze for Degeneration but could never stick the touchscreen controls long enough persevere with them.

Thanks! There's so much to cover, just for a seemingly simple game, hehe.

Yeah, I couldn't tolerate the virtual analog for the Degeneration game after a while. And the mobile RE4 seems even worse. I think you can get analog sticks for the iphone I think, but I have no idea if it would work with the Degeneration game. Rpgs are easier to manage though with a touch screen.
