Yeah, Survivor was bad. I finished it in 1 hour and 20 minutes first play-through. But for 12$ at gamestop I thought couldn't go wrong ....


Really hope they'll continue the Dino Crisis series one day though.. Never got the chance to play DC3. But DC and DC2 were freakin' awesome! DC2 is my favourite game ever!

(( I really don't like this game. Poor graphics, poor sound effects and 1st person is not my style. It's also fast and easy. I prefer games next to real life. ))

I actually enjoy Survivor... though I find it hard not to like any certain RE game. But I did enjoy Survivor no matter how short, easy, and bad it was.

I haven't played it, but I don't think it can possibly be worse then Gaiden... =/

I happen to like Survivor. But yeah, the game cannot hold a candle to anything else RE related. It was great how it got a wee bit of a mention in RE Zero, however brief it was.

To bad Zero made this atrocity canon...

I personally think some people might be a little too hard on Resident Evil Survivor because, being a Resident Evil game, it had big expectations - Resident Evil is one of highest selling, longest lasting series in video games. Survivor can't compete with the masterpieces like Resident Evil 2 and the Resident Evil REmake. The game itself wasn't horrible. The storyline at times did seem a bit thin, but in regards to the series, it did a decent job.

In a way Survivor is the black sheep of the Resident Evil family. It isn't necessarily the worst, but by no means it is anywhere among the best. This is a result of Its flaws made very noticeable by being comparison to the rest of the games in the series. This is why I think Survivor is considered the worst by some. I, however, applaud the risk. It was a bold experiment.

Ark gets the short end of the stick. He reminds me of Leon and Chris in so many ways, so much in fact, that I honestly believe Ark is strong enough to make a comeback in future installments.

So much hatred for Survivor...

I like it. It's not as good as the first 3 games but I enjoyed it more than CV (believe it or not).
I played it over and over and mapped out the whole game on graph paper (before I bought a strategy guide some years later). It will always have a special place in my heart.
I was into light gun games, so getting a light gun Resident Evil was heaven for me. And being able to move around in first person was an incredible innovation.
The graphics are a bit ugly to look at by todays standards but nearly all FPS on PS1 looked crappy. It still captures the atmosphere of a RE game. I certainly felt like I was playing RE... RE in first person, with a gun in my hand.

It's funny how angry it made some people and others just live in denial because it's not what they wanted to hear.
I'm glad it's canon.

Its a good job this is canon otherwise there would be no more Tyrants after the T-002. If Survivor wasn't canon then there would be no Nemesis, no Ivan, no, TALOS, no CVX tyrant etc. This game is more important plot wise than a lot of people give it credit for.
