Hello my friends, I am back with another update.

Our Support Outbreak petition just reached a new milestone: 8500 signatures. The Support Outbreak petition is still going strong, the total number of signatures increases every single day. We are now more close than ever to our goal of 10,000 signatures. This is a very exciting time. When we reach 10,000 signatures hopefully Capcom will have some good news for all of our Outbreak supporters. http://www.petitiononline.com/042690/petition.html

We have also taken down our old YouTube page and created a new and improved Support Outbreak page. I invite you to visit it at: http://www.youtube.com/SUPPORTOUTBREAK3

Our members are very proud of our new Support Outbreak Twitter account. This is very new, we just launched it today. Follow us at http://twitter.com/#!/Supportreo

Last but certainly not least, our Support Outbreak team has just finished an exciting Support Outbreak project we have been working on for months. It is a video showcasing our members favorite Outbreak moments and memories. Check it out:

A YouTube video is considered an exciting project? Might I ask though, what improvements have been made to the YouTube "channel"?

And you're very proud of your Twitter account? Was it a struggle between you all to fill in the registration details then?

Also to offer you perspective - Capcom some years ago said it would take 10,000 signatures on an online petition for them to even discuss thinking about a PSP Resident Evil game. The petition hit that target very quickly.

You're not even a tenth of the way there - in how long?

The spin you put on these things would make most political parties wince.

My friends, I thought that you would be interested to see what some well-known staff members at Capcom have said about Resident Evil Outbreak and our Support Outbreak Campaign. I spent a lot of time searching our 2209 page Resident Evil Outbreak Discussion thread looking for comments from Capcom staff. I hope that you enjoy reading what they have said:

Christian Svensson is the most well-known Capcom employee who has acknowledged us. He is on the board of directors for Capcom and he is also the Vice President of Strategic Planning & Business Development.

http://www.capcom-unity.com/resident_ev ... #325168641

"This is very cool guys. I love the fan unity here."

"I have no news to add about a future Outbreak, but just wanted to pop in and say that this is a good way to make a difference in that future."

http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/ ... #495136213

"I know that there are some fans who want old Outbreak to come back or a new title in the series. Very vocal ones at that. It comes up in planning discussions from time to time but it hasn't yet made it over the hump. Maybe someday it will."

"As Seth alluded to on the stream, there have been some extrodinary lengths some folks internally have gone to try and help those Outbreak stalwarts that unfortunately didn't come good.Unfortunately, I can't talk about those things but just know there are people internally, especially in our office, supporting your desires."

Seth Killian is a Community Manager at Capcom.

http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/ ... #471565497

"We definitely have more plans for Resident Evil (no big surprise there), but no news to share yet about any game like an Outbreak File 3."

"As for the petition and chatter around it--we definitely know about it. Even if we were to respond immediately to all the fan requests for a given game (and of course we aren't able to do that), it would be easily over a year before we were ready to announce it. As for the people saying "it could never happen"--they said the same thing about Mega Man Legends 3, and all of their support finally paid off, so I think "never" is a silly thing to say about Capcom games (unless we're talking about Auto Modelista 2--I'll happily say "never!" to that )."

Capcom Admin. is the Web Technologist for Capcom U.S.

"Look at this thread go!"

"I'm pleased to see so many supporters in here, this is what Unity is all about."

"As many of you may recall, Takeuchisan publicly declared that the series is ready for a "reboot", perhaps you will see elements of gameplay, story, characters, etc. getting tossed around for the next iteration of the series. Keep focusing on what make Outbreak & File2 so special to you guys and instead of a straight port you can find enjoyment in where Takeuchisan takes the franchise next (and maybe the team will incorporate some of your amazing ideas/comments)."

"Keep it up guys, your enthusiasm is contagious!"

http://www.capcom-unity.com/resident_ev ... #320250981

"Hey guys, it is obvious from a few PM's I've received that my last post casused quite a stir. Let me first state that I have _NO IDEA_ what they are planning on doing with Resident Evil, I was only quoting Takeuchisan."

"So, will there be a port? Who knows? It is primarliy up to you guys, the fans, to do what you are doing... making noise. If the RE, Darkside Chronicles & RE Zero for the Wii are any "indication", then ports are more likely now than ever before."

"So, grain of salt team... I'm in the dark, like you... in fact sometimes you guys know more than I do :P"

"Stay enthusiastic! Keep making noise! Let Capcom know how important this is and how many other people agree with you."

"Good luck guys!"

^ In other words, "Nice effort guys, but it's never gonna happen."

Sounds like the guy appreciates your dedication, but doesn't have the heart to tell you it's all for nothing.

If, in the future outbreak does see a revival as a result of the fans, I'll be sure to place my foot firmly in my mouth. But I don't sense that happening. Ever.

You've missed a great quote from Seth! Remember? The one where he called you psychos?

Imagine this though eh? A rep from Capcom actively encouraging you to promote their product. Crazy world right?

I think its possible for outbreak to come back in some form. Between all the hd remakes and the introduction of ps2 classics on the psn, something's gotta give.

If it does come back as a PS2 classic on the ps store, it will likely lack multiplayer, which would render the game pointless.

How screwed up would that be if it did come to PS3 as a classic, without the multiplayer? Capcom would get the troll of the century award.

Outbreak is dead as a doornail and is never coming back. The end.

It doesn't hurt to be optimistic.
