CODE: Veronica has the dubious honor of being the main Biohazard game without a chronological designation (with the exception of Umbrella and Darkside). Depending on who you ask, it's the true Biohazard 3 or the true Biohazard 4.

Biohazard Revelations is the first time since CODE: Veronica in which, based on what Capcom has said, we are being treated to a real entry in the series in terms of both gameplay and plot. It will apparently have Biohazard 5-style gameplay and obviously Chris and Jill are not side story material. It's the Biohazard series' equivalent to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which would have been titled Metal Gear Solid 5 had Kojima and Konami's moods been different. Just as CODE: Veronica had been unofficially called Biohazard 3 or 4 in the past, Revelations appears as though it could have been Biohazard 6 had it been a (PS360 HD) console game.

CODE: Veronica was the game that got me into the series, and in spite of having no number, was the turning point for the series' plot (for better or worse). It was bigger in scope and depth than the games that came before it, and it was the game that ushered in Biohazard into a new generation and took the series out of the 32-bit era. Revelations, just as Biohazard 1 and Biohazard 5 did for the PS1 and HD twins, will usher in Biohazard into a new generation: 3D handheld.

I'm excited about Revelations because it's the next true Biohazard.

Hopefully by that fact it won't be boring as hell for me to play. xD

I kid, no telling what will happen in this game though, I'm a bit excited.

Judging by Kenji Inafune's comments on it so far, I have to agree with you.

It sure sounds that way, let's hope it produces on the level a true Biohazard would. And I agree with you, CODE: Veronica should have simply been Biohazard 4, etc. I always see our actual BH4 and CVC as Leon and Claire's side sequels to Biohazard 2. I'm not sure why one would be numbered and the other not, especially considering CODE: Veronica added more to the plot than the fourth installment.

I'm more interested in what "Revelations" actually means for this title.

I'm guessing this may reveal something huge, maybe sets up for Resident Evil 6?

I'd rather wait before getting my hopes on where this game could stand in the Resident Evil franchise, but with the name Revelations i'm really not expecting much more than a Chronicles-esque retelling, or filling in of the many blanks we've got.

It's all very well people putting faith in all manner of obscure sources for them to be happy with the Resi storyline, but there's still a lot of people who aren't so maybe this is the chance for them to fix that.

I agree with Stu. We have very few informations avaliable, this could indeed be a great game, but I prefer to wait for more informations about the plot and the game itself.

Just wondering why is tooking so long to the trailer be released...

Capcom are slow with releasing trailers at times though. They didn't release the Play God trailer officially for a few months after the TGS show, all we had was cam recordings for a while. So it's that, or they just didn't think the current trailer was suitable for non-3D viewing.

I think it wasn't a proper trailer, more like a series of interactive cutscenes where you could zoom in/out, according to various previews.
