If we have any here. Seriously. State why you are an atheist. I figured this would be something fun to do!

I hope I can actually stick with this- I usually end up having something to do and it takes too long to respond, but we'll see.

Atheist are IMPOSSIBLE to talk too; ABOUT ANYTHING!!! Most people I know that are atheist love to argue....It's there single sole reason for living. Religion, videogames, politics...if they can argue a point to WIN they will do it to the death no matter how stupid it makes them look. P.S. I had to edit to add in my smiley, That face doesn't mean I hate them...They just really piss me off.

Well, I think I have some pretty logical reasons why there is a God, and why Atheism is illogical, but that just isn't fun without any Atheist.

Should I just move on to religions? I mean, owning them (not Christianity mind you)?

I really hate to bump this, but.... Here's a thread for your enjoyment:

http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102754

LOL! It's hillarious. And the guy with the argument never came forward. Taichi is a joke. In the end he changes it to sound more jokey (I think? And is that even a word).

Mr. Chi refuses to refute my extremely simplified argument. He then states:

"notice, the moment I hit him with the $60,000 question, he bolts?

doesn't surprise me.....the truth is hard to take sometimes.....

and I will not get off my faith, it is Christianity that is illogical......completely, and fully....."

Yet he does not answer the question, nor does he recognize the fact that he did not read/ignored a point of my initial argument, even after I stated that it was in my initial argument post.

Mr. Chi does not specifiy what "truth" although we'll assumed it's his very flawed "argument", if we can even call it that. He then accepts the fact that his Atheism is faith, and then goes on to say how Christianity is illogical without specifying how it is. It's not ironic that he does not attack religion in general, it's quite normal for Christianity to be targetted.

Mr. Chi's rank in this debate?: EXTREME scrub.

Don't be fooled folks, most atheists really aren't very bright.

PS. If something shows up that I have no responded to, please tell me. I don't wish to go back in that thread, although I might. We weren't getting anywhere.

Mr.Gorath then goes on to say how my comments are nonsensical, although not shown why. He cheaply takes out the beginning of my argument, apparently disregarding the rest. He tries to hide behind a link, still not refuting my argument.

Mr. Dash goes on to ask me why I asked him to answer somethign when I'm not coming back. Apparently he does not feel the need to answer the question, and I said specifically earlier "I am responding further unless I get something good". I may have said I'm not coming back, but there is not reason to respond to any more now as we would be going in circles.

Angryliberal loves basking in a position that he cannot back up.

This applies to Mr. Gorath's last post: http://www.carm.org/atheism/santa.htm
See, I have links too!

It's obvious the Atheists like to resort to name calling while simulataneously ignoring the issue. Mr. Gorath thinks his link saved him, when in fact, it did not. Also, I can do that also, as you have seen:

http://www.carm.org

What do you think?

PS. Taichi further shows his lack of knowledge at the end of this thread by talking about the inquisition and such. I love it.

This is interesting. In my ethics class recently we were talking about how this philosopher had a belief that it makes no sense not to believe in God. His arguement was simple. He stated if you worship God and do things his way and in the end if there is no God oh well you lose nothing. Then he stated if you don't believe in God and there does turn out to be one your screwed big time. So in a sense theres no real reason to be an atheist.

I've heard that before.

The problem is, does simply a belief in God/doing good things keep you from being screwed? No. At least not according to Christianity. *magically transforms into a pastor with a Bible* It is faith and acceptance in Jesus. I'm willing to back up my belief if I need to.

Well, let's start here: can all different religions get you to heaven (assuming you believe there is a heaven, since God-belief is logical) and be correct? The answer is NO. Here's my reasoning:

Religion A says there is no way to heaven but blah, Religion B says that there is no way but dew, Religion C says that there is no way but shoryuken, and Religion D says that the way is whatever the person wants it to be.

Hm. Let's see here... can religion A, B, and C all be correct as D says they can? Well, can two directly contradictory things be true? Example: Can something be both A and not A? Can something be something, but not something? Of course not.

Hey, we could talk about relativism. Is relativism a safe place? No. Is it logical? Again, no. We can get into this if you wish. 8)

Now, assuming that God has a purpose for us, a will for us, which religion is correct in portraying God's will? Surely not religions that contradict themselves and the facts?

So, let's get into religions. I believe Christianity is correct, but just because I believe or "feel" it is correct does not make it correct. Not at all. Feelings and emotions do not dictate truth. Then what is truth, you ask. I think we can find that out.

Somebody bring up a religion they would like to talk about. We can start with Christianity, or anything you choose. Personally, Islam and Mormonsim are favorites of mine, especially the latter.
