Silly born agains... Time to rebel or move out first chance.

I'm born again too.. but not like him.. he's very strict everything that we do he puts religion in our conversations.

Perhaps I shouldn't have said it in that manner, I'm sorry if I offended you. The type of person I'm reffering to is like your uncle, extremely over the top. They become so obsessed with a set of manmade laws that they become unruly in their own personal realm, it's obviously no good. Despite some obvious genuine efforts, I see too many of these people grasping on to something they were anything but their entire life. It seems more like a facade than a way of life. If it is purity you seek and follow that path your entire life, God bless you. Sadly a huge percentage of born agains are anything but.

It's ok.. I kinda hate him from being strict and thinks that he is holy.. But anyways.. God Bless you too..

A thing i hate is when people take jokes too seriously, or they fail to see that it WAS a joke

Sorry to hear about your uncle geebaby, seems like one of the over the tops that sometimes appear from the born again society. No disrespect towards them, but sometimes they presume their new formed attitude should adjust those around them, if that makes sense.

I feel similar to V in many ways, but perhaps aimed in a different direction. What I cant stand, and I make no secret of when asked, is...punk asses. I have a side of my family who are a bunch of red neck, beer drinking, drug using (pills, weed, pain killers) type of folks who I detest beyond belief. This extends to beyond family, to people who I consider weak willed and feeble minded because of their reliance and aim towards mediocrity or perhaps their denial of their aim towards it.

These people I hate being around and can not cope with. For that matter I don't talk nor associate with that side of my family, although part of that extends to my pursuit of being a lawyer and their criminal records as well. When planning on being a in court lawyer, having close ties with family members with lists of criminal records does one no good.

I believe anything that softens the mind without any real gain at all is weakness. Things such as television and games some might consider as softeners, but they can teach values, lessons, and even drive children and adults alike to believe and try something new and exciting in their life.

Basically, the punk asses of the world, or the losers ( those who abuse drugs, alcohol, or realize their sad and ridiculous circumstances and do nothing to change them) rub against my grain. This is not too say those who have done such things in their life are losers or punks, but those who continue to I feel are wasting time and life and send a terrible message on the ability we have as a human race to adapt and change.

May make no sense, but it does to me.

I totally agree with everything you said there, especially the drug use. I had something to post here, but I don't have much time so I'll reply later.

I wore off several VHS tapes watching T1&2 back in the day, so you could say I'm a big fan. He used to be an excellent filmmaker, but not since the mid 90's. Granted, Avatar was a better film than Titanic but it was a mere gorgeous, but shameless Dances With Wolves rip off.

Yeah Avatar could have better, but it was still enjoyable. I actually liked Titanic however, I'm a fan of romance films see. I still don't see why many people dislike it. Still he's a long shot from being a bad director, his films are just so big and seen by so many he gets judged harder than most. A bad director is someone like "The Brothers Strauss", the two guys who made AVP2, or Len Wisemen, who made Underworld, and is sadly signed on to remake Total Recall (Why Hollywood?).

I guess I will bring this on topic by saying it gets on my nerves when people criticize James Cameron, Steven Spielberg or George Lucas, even though people have every right to it still bothers me enough to defend them lol. If those guys make one sub-par film (Phantom Menace, Indy 4, Avatar) everyone gets on their back and whines about them forever and ever no matter how good all their other works were and I find it so annoying. Yeah those films weren't perfect, but can people stop complaining about Phantom Menace now, it's been over a decade since release, go complain about a legitimately bad film instead of one that disappointed you because you hyped it far more than you should have. Not directing this at you SG, just people in general.

Videogame Journalists that make more then 30,000$ a year without having ever played Doom, Splatterhouse or FF6...and then make fun of people who went to places like RIT, NYIT or CW and got degrees in computer science and game design....ok just kidding...(kinda)

I hate when people use the terms JRPG especially the people I described above.

^ Actually, it's a pet peeve of mine when so-called journalists go out of their way to criticize and make fun of developers in a commanding tone as if they know better. Then there is the tone that they have working knowledge of hardware based on some interviews or developer feedback. Eurogamer's Digital Foundry affiliate was the epitome of everything I just said up to earlier this year, then they started toning it down.

I don't quite remember what article it was, but he went out of his way to criticize one team as a clueless bunch while praising another. Real classy.

And V, I guess my issue can be summed up with the following. His last two movies are currently the first and second highest grossing movies of all time, despite being unoriginal unlike his earlier work. Cameron sadly has been focusing too much on the CGI side and commercially, it works. Still, this is the same man who gave us Terminator and Aliens so my rant is more of a "you can do better but still peddling CGI mainly?". His ego is big enough now that he's likely not going to do anything bold like he did in the 80's and 90's, even though he's one of the few directors who can afford to do that. Look at Nolan, WB doesn't even question anything he does after TDK.

I can't comment on the rest because I'm not a big fan of their work. I'm more of a Scorsese fanboy
