My uncle Jonathan and I watched Super 8, it was a lot better than I thought it would be.

And they didn't explain a lot. I went with friends, half of whom never read the books. After the film they were asking "What's with the dogs?" "What the hell is with the random relationship?" "Why didn't we find out about her dad until halfway through the film?" "Why was Peeta with the careers?" "Where do the bodies go?" etc etc.

I agree, a lot of things weren't explained thoroughly. Reading the book was comforting to know the reasons why but at the same time made it a tad disappointing that it wasn't explained fully.
Other than that I love the movie  . It will be my third time seeing it after today.

Just saw Baby Mama yesterday pretty funny. I loved Tina Fey in Mean Girls and she was hilarious here too.

Just saw Avengers!!!!

So yeah, in short, it's awesome! Whedon brings the funny, the action, the heart and rolls it all up in the best super-hero film - hands down. Not to discount Nolan's Batman films, which are great - alternatively they deal with a different take of super heroes that's more "realistic". However Avengers deals with a full cast of super powered characters doing what they do best. I really can't say more without spoiling it but if anyone checks it out, do stay to watch even after the credits!

Let's just say that Avengers is probably the best Marvel superhero movie to date. Joss Whedon (Buffy, Firefly) took the characters from Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America and pretty much pumped everything up to 11 and fixed everything that made some of the other movies suck and it has brilliant action scenes and even Scarlett Johansson gave a good performance and just go see it now, it's making more money than any other movie has in the first couple of weeks.

Whoo. Taking a breath now.

Oh, P.S., don't waste money seeing it in 3-D. This movie was filmed in 2-D so the 3-D sucks and is just a waste of money. (so i've heard from people who saw it in 3-D)

Saw avengers twice. Definately worth seeing. Whedon knows his shit. Never cared for the avengers but whedon makes them all very fun.
