Barry Bonds has dropped out of the WBC. I epect more players to drop for fear of injury.

It sucks not to have perhaps the best player in the world play. But he does have very good reason not to go.

The whole timing of this event sucks, on top of it. It's right smack in the middle of the Spring Training games, what... are the players not going to be there for most of these training games now because their in the WBC? Heck, not only are they important for roster choosing, but I'm more interested in watching our March pre-season games than the WBC anyway.

True but it could have been much worse. Some idiot on espn.com actually suggested shutting down the season for a couple weeks in July for it. That would be horrible.
