This is a funny story for all you MLB fans (especially Mets fans) out there straight from mlb.com:

Marlins: MLB.com learned they are talking to Rey Ordonez about a comeback, for defensive insurance at shortstop. Ordonez last played in the Majors in '04, for the Cubs, who released him that July when Alex Gonzalez became healthy again. A Miami resident, Ordonez will turn only 35 in January. He won three consecutive Gold Gloves with the Mets in the late '90s.

One of, if not my favorite Met players next to the Fonz... oh man, I can't wait to see this guy play. I didn't think such a magician could end so abruptly, I'm happy to see he's back... even if it is on another team.

Hmm insurace, well it seems Alex Gonzalez might be leaving. Oh well at least we are getting a solid backup guy.

If things had panned out, you'd be getting what should have been the best defensive SS to ever play the game. I'm not one to compare eras and use "evers", but this is an exception.
