I had to rely on a translator, so if some of the information is incorrect or misunderstood, I apologize in advance.

Utilizing audio files that were discovered on the Operation Raccoon City disc, Ultimate-RE has pieced together a rough outline of the DLC Spec Ops missions. I am not sure at this point if this includes all of the missions that will be released, or just the first one (or two). I will be enclosing the information in spoiler tags so that those who wish to go in fresh will be able to.

Spoiler:
First things first, it appears the true mission of the Spec Ops is to retrieve William Birkin and escort him out of the city into government custody. However, they are advised by their CO to not reveal this information to anyone, so when they encounter Jill and she asks them what they're doing there, they tell her that their mission is to rescue survivors and collect evidence implicating Umbrella in the outbreak.

After meeting Jill and, presumably, fending off Nemesis, the team heads to City Hall, believing that it will offer clues and information regarding Umbrella's involvement. While there, they discover video footage of the USS, alerting the Spec Ops to the opposition. Whether the footage is of Wolfpack or the generic USS grunts you will likely be facing during the campaign is unknown. They also find plans that disclose the location of Umbrella's underground laboratory, and their CO orders them to infiltrate the lab via the sewers.

Somewhere along the way, possibly in the sewers, the Spec Ops run into Claire, and she asks them to help her find Sherry, who has gone missing. The CO says finding Sherry might ultimately aid the team in locating and extracting William, because they have not heard from him since before the outbreak. Once Sherry is located and reunited with Claire, another team of Spec Ops escort them outside of the city (I would wager specifically the train yard from the final USS mission).

The Spec Ops arrive at the underground laboratory but must ultimately destroy it (or a part of it) to contain a threat they encounter (possibly Birkin?). They are then contacted by their CO, informing them that all contact has been lost with the team that was escorting Claire and Sherry, and they need to head to their last known coordinates to protect them, as well as Leon, from the USS. This seems to be the final battle from the USS campaign, but this time you're protecting Leon, Claire, and Sherry from the USS and aren't given an option to save or kill them. Afterwards, the trio are taken into protective custody.

After this, there is one last mission for the Spec Ops. They are ordered to move to the Dead Factory (the P12-A factory from the USS campaign), and it is here where you will get to play through the battle between the Spec Ops and T-103s, the aftermath of which Jill witnesses at the end of RE3. You will be faced with several T-103s, and you will have to utilize the Paracelsus' Sword rail cannon to defeat all of them. One player will operate the cannon, while the other players will have to fend off the T-103s as well as operate the various levers and switches which power the cannon.

This is apparently where the mission ends.

Feel free to discuss, but you might want to use spoiler tags just to be safe.

Lmao, that's actually worse than the USS one in terms of how badly it fucks up the story.

Heh.

I do like how they have based the Echo Six storyline off of the background plot written by Kawamura. As a non-canon spin-off, that's actually quite cool. It sounds much, much better than the U.S.S. campaign.

Well, to be 100% honest. Despite how much contradiction is involved, it actually sounds WAY more interesting and fun than the U.S.S. campaign. But, then again, execution is entirely different from reading a description. And after how the U.S.S. campaign played out, I don't have a whole lot of hope for this ending up being 'fun'. But, hopefully I'm wrong and it will at least be entertaining.

SPEC OPS are far more interesting than U.S.S. anyway so here's to hoping they manage to get a decent story going at least.

Would enjoy playing as Dee-Ay freely in campaign at least.

This is kind of how I see it, too. I mean, Dee-Ay, Harley, and Party Girl are terrible, but all the faceless USS cyborgs are terrible, so yeah...

They're like the lesser of two evils.

Figured i would just ask this here, but did anyone download the paid-for Spec Ops DLC? I played the prologue mission, didn't seem like anything to spend the extra 10$ on, and just wanted to confirm the theory. Anything worth mentioning?

Its not bad. Certainly more fun than the USS.

First mission is at city hall with a lot of uss enemies including new ones that look kinda like lone wolf and are much harder to kill.

There's a stealth part where you need to get around a lot of mines and not make any noise to avoid uss and later lickers.

Second mission has you run into carlos and protect him then find jill and carlos at the clock tower during their fight with nemesis. You then fight rocket launcher nemy at the clocktower and in a park until you escape underground.

You travel underground till you get to the foundry and fight rocket nemy again where you have to lure him into these lava traps to beat him.

Third level is the sewers where you meet claire who's looking for sherry. Yoy get flares and need them to see in the sewer since its pitch black.

You find sherry and have to use flares to guide her to safety and protect her from zombies. Then you fight super hunters. Then you have a standoff with a lot of swarns of zommbies coming for sherry you have to protect her.

Finally Birkin shows up for her and you escape to a furnace and have to fight him there andburn him in the furnace to beat him.

Overall its pretty fun and a lot more enjoyable than the USS one. Dunno that its worth ten bucks but it is fun.

Bought Echo Six Expansion Pack 2 yesterday. I mentioned it a bit in the news topic but I have to say I am honestly happy I bought the DLC overall. It's SO much better than the campaign in almost every way. If SPEC OPS Campaign had been the default campaign and not the shitty U.S.S. one, I think a lot more people here would have liked the game.

Obviously you need to throw canon out the window to enjoy the game but if you just accept it as a fan service game, it's actually a lot of fun. The Spec Ops missions are worth playing because they actually manage to make it feel like RE in many ways unlike the U.S.S campaign.

And the boss battles in Echo Six levels are 'actual' boss battles and are 'fun' unlike in U.S.S.

Pack 2 has some of the best levels too. The Dead Factory sucks in terms of it's relation to RE3 and what you'd expect there based on what we know. It's a HUGE let down in that way as it is so far removed from what actually happened there. But, outside of that, it's pretty damn crazy. Once you actually get to the factory, you face about 8 Tyrants and 3 Clawed Tyrants. The Rail Cannon is there and it actually is used against them during the battle. It's just dumb how it's presented and used. But, other than that, the battle is pretty crazy and fun.

The last level is great because of the final boss. It's a Tyrant infected by one of the parasites that take over the zombies. And it becomes a 'Super' Tyrant la la la. Anyway, it's the best boss battle in the game. It's incredibly long and can keep you on edge. He has three forms (not physical though) so I guess 'stages' is a better word.

Eventually he lifts up off the ground and starts walking around on his insectoid legs and eventually digging into the ground and burrowing around after you and the giant insect claws pop out and try to stab you etc.

It's pretty crazy and a lot of fun. Way better than any of the bullshit boss fights found in the U.S.S. campaign.

Honestly, yeah it sucks to spend $20 extra for something that shoulda been included to start. And have to pay to get the 'good' campaign. But, overall, it is worth it. It is a lot of fun and I don't regret buying it. And I actually have FUN playing campaign mode now solely because of the Echo Six missions.

Got the DLC and beat it today as well. All in all, the last boss was pretty well done.

But is this really the final Echo 6 DLC? Because Echo 6 stays behind, and we
Spoiler:
don't find out what happens to Jill and Carlos.
