It never ceases to amaze me how the people who claim to not care about things like the canon are the ones who seem to post the most about it.

They need to have a super archives book with EVERY single game that has ANYTHING to do with Resident Evil and be like "This is canon, this isn't canon, THIS is canon, this ISN'T canon." One book. One bible. EVERYTHING ANSWERED. :D So we can all sleep at night. lmao I personally care about the canon because I like to know the truth- but people always arguing over it seems to..negate the care...ness.

Nearly every series, be it movies or games or books that have grown to include multiple mediums has stuff that is canon or non canon. For the most part it is up to you individually to figure that out unless specifically told by the creators. What I am saying is that you will never get the answers just decide what is canon to you.

Uhm........its a non-cannon multiplayer mode that even if ORC was canon, would not affect the canon or story in anyway? Its no diff than Chris and Sheva killing each other in versus.

Its a multiplayer mode. Ada trying to kill Leon or Claire is irrelevant there. She's on villains side for good reason. She's a villain for show even if she's secretly an anti hero behind the villains backs.

You're the one who brought up the story details first with Krauser and Wesker.

She's on the villains side because Slant 6 just doesn't know any better.

Er yes to explain why Ada was put on villains. She's not a hero and she's not a villain. She's a little of both and masquerades as a villain on the villains side. That makes her suited to be on a villains team in a multiplayer mode.

You then brought up her shooting at leon being wrong when its completely irrelevant in a multiplayer mode.

Using story to explain why a decision was made for someone to be on a certain team is one thing. Trying to use story to explain how illogical it is for RE chars to kill each other is something else entirely.

You're using a double standard and you know it. You either use the story to explain the logic or you don't. No halfway-there explanations, please.

I still believe it's ridiculous, just like the rest of the game.

How is it a double standard? One is simply defining heroes from villains to set apart two teams. The other is actually trying to involve the story 'in' the multiplayer mode. Again, they're two entirely different things.

It's like the difference between using the story to decide on the G-virus being the samples that need to be collected for Biohazard mode compaired to actually trying to use the story to fit what happens in biohazard mode into canon. Two ENTIRELY different things. No double standard.

All they did was say hey, we have four heroes, and we need some villains. We have Nicholai and Hunk, who else do we have? Hey well, Ada plays a villain role and works with wesker and others so she can technically be called a villain. Let's pop her on that team then to help even it out.

You on the other hand are trying to take a totally non-canon irrelevant mode and actually make sense out of it in terms of the actual story and how Ada would never shoot Leon etc.

There's logic behind the decisions but you shouldn't be trying to actually make sense of 'why' they're all shooting and fighting each other and trying to kill each other in a multiplayer death match mode.......

Raccoon City’s Studio is Satisfied with One Happy Customer: Capcom

Reviews of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City were not kind. It opened to terrible reviews, especially for a title releasing under that name and publisher. "Not worth playing," and "a mediocre slog with annoying difficulty spikes," is the appraisal of Kotaku's Evan Narcisse, in his review.

Eurogamer contacted developer Slant Six for a reaction to the criticism, and got a passive-aggressive buck-passing to Capcom:

"We read every review and we try to pull out all the constructive feedback that we can so we can learn a little about what people liked and what they didn't," Slan Six's Mike Kerr told Eurogamer. "Then we look to what our internal goals were and what Capcom asked us to do and I think we accomplished what they wanted to do - we took the Resident Evil franchise in a different direction."

"A different direction." I'm sure Capcom and Resident Evil detractors both can agree that's where Raccoon City ended up.

Slant Six  I hope they don't fold like Zipper have been rumoured to.

Good thing is that probably all these reviews will make Capcom Japan re-think their partenership with mediocre Western developers and won't let noobs touch their most important franchises anymore. One can hope, anyway.

Did Capcom or Slant 6 have any comment concerning the bad reviews and disappointed audience?
