Watching that first video, listening to the commentary it's bizarre that there doesn't seem to be any middle ground with this game - most of the comments i've read are people absolutely DETESTING it or loving it.

Still can't bring myself to rent it though for whatever reason.

I'm on the middle ground. I despise the single player and despise the bugs and glitches in the muliplayer. Outside of that, I find the multiplayer quite fun and addicting. I just get turrets syndrome whenever i have to restart my ps3 for the 30th time while trying to play a damn match online.

Fun game for multiplayer, but, the bugs and glitches will drive you up a wall. I don't think a lot of others would have as much patience to keep playing as I do if they experienced the sheer amount of freeze ups, crashes, glitches and bugs that i have that totally ruined my matches though. Thus they just jump on the 'fuck this game' wagon instead.

On topic, I didn't watch the videos. Not to be mean and I mean no offense, just as soon as I read stu's comment about 'commentary' I was immediately turned off. I just can't bring myself to watch any videos anymore with random people doing their own commentary who have no idea how to do commentary and are just sitting there going "So..........." "Uh...." and overreacting to everything on purpose just to try and make the video supposedly more entertaining. Especially horror game videos where people vastly overreact to 'scares'. It makes me cringe everytime. Or listening to them cry and complain, curse and scream and shout "BULLSHIT!" every five seconds about everything in the game they suck at as if it's usually anything other than the fact they suck that they lost or died etc. And of course, my favorite, using "Fuck" "Fucking" every other word of their commentary to sound cool.

So again, no offense. I didn't watch the video so I'm by no means judging your own commentary since again, I didn't see it to be able to say anything about it. I just can't be bothered because of how much 'crap' I've sat through in the past that just made me wanna shoot myself.

So it's essentially like L4D then in the sense that you'll mostly come back for the multiplayer, rarely for single player?

And are these the sort of bugs and glitches that should be easily patched?

Must admit, Slant 6 doing a Takeuchi and going on about their next project when their Resident Evil title was barely out the door didn't sit well with me, hope they're not abandoning it straight away.

I don't know how easily they'd be patched. Can they be patched? Definitely. Easily? That I'm not sure considering how crazy some of them are. Where's my post from the other topic, hold on.

Quote:
I've lost my sound, fell through the floor, teleported all over the map nonstop out of control, been unable to fire my gun, watched corpses slither on the floor like snakes, been unable to pickup ammo or heals, had enemies grab thin air a mile away and got hit by it, watched my character fall over and die at full health for no reason, had my kills not register, spawned ontop of other players and got stuck, spawned in mid air and was unable to move, and had an invisible force field on me block my grenades from being thrown and made them land at my own feet instead to which I then couldn't move until my own grenade blew me up.

And that's not counting all the game freezing and crashes, dropped games and matchmaking glitches that force me to reboot my console to escape seeing "cancelling search please wait" forever.

And to add to that, DavidKing and I were playing last night and he spawned twice. He had two versions of himself, the other one was like a mirror. He even showed up twice on the results screen and getting the mirror killed, killed him apparently.

Then he also died and the respawn timer froze at like 2 seconds left and wouldn't let him respawn. His corpse was on the floor with life still apparently. I tossed a grenade at his dead body and it took life but didn't respawn him. So i then tried a first aid and it fully healed him, but, still no respawn. So he was stuck watching the match from the floor the hole time.

It just feels like they spent zero time on bug testing whatsoever. Because most of these bugs happen so frequently it'd be impossible to miss it in QA.

But yeah, it's like L4D in a lot of ways. I only touch multiplayer unless someone asks me to help them through campaign. And the zombies and BOWs constantly swarming you is a lot like in L4D. The entire multiplayer game feels like SOCOM or Uncharted 3 mixed with L4D in my opinion.

That may be a ps3 issue cause my xbox hasnt freezed up. Im not a commentator but I try to help the community with what i learned. Especially players who really dont know anything about the game. I think the game is fun and havent played any other games in the series to notice glitches or anything in that nature.

It does seem the 360 version has less issues than the ps3 one but i have seen people on the 360 boards complaining about similiar glitches. Just not 'as' often as on the ps3 board.

20+ hours with friends (over 10 different players) and AI alike throughout Campaign mode and not once have I had to restart my PS3. Lucky thrice?

I hope you're not trying to imply I'm making this up and ragging on the game for nothing. I've played with multiple people from this board who can back me up on how often the game screwed up on us during multiplayer. Go check the ps3 boards on gamefaqs and look at how many people are complaining about the bugs and glitches, being unable to join games, all the crashes and freezes etc.

If you haven't experienced this stuff, you are lucky indeed. I wish I could switch places with you because I'm sick and tired of having to quit to the XMB or restart my ps3 because the game freezes or glitches out.

Keep in mind, outside of the crappy campaign and bugs and glitches in multiplayer, I've actively defended the games multiplayer as being enjoyable when everyone else was all 'fuck this, i'm not buying this shit'. So it's not even like I'm sitting here calling the game shit and making excuses to purposely hate on it. I like the game, I just am tired of all the bugs and glitches ruining the experience for me.
