When Chris was on the island and when he left for the Antartic, Alexia was awake. Since Alexia was awake, what could she have been doing all that time? She captured Claire and Steve, with all that time she could've experimented on both of them if she wanted to or maybe they could've tried to escape but she caught them. Or maybe she was researching on her virus more and trying to see who could she experiment on?

It's just a theory. I know it's never mentioned.
