Not sure if you guys heard, or even care, but long running G4 shows Xplay and Attack of The Show are getting the axe, and by 2013, the station plans to be rebranded as a GQ, Spike T.V clone, cutting all ties to gaming and geek culture.

Bitter sweet for me, glad they are finally not posing as a network for geeks and gamers, because they lost all credibilty years ago.. it's like putting an old, beloved dog to rest that's long been suffering from disease.

I remember watching all the time when I was in highschool, back when it was Extended Play on Techtv, as well as watching The Screen Savers evolve into AoTS...
Stopped watching the network years ago when they began showing rerun after rerun of Cops, cheaters, and other non-game related shows; only occassionally tuning in to see how badly the quality of programming dropped since its hay-day.. Guess now we know the true reason why Adam Sessler and Kevin Perarra left the network.

Anyway, just thought I'd inform you guys, in case ya hadn't gotten the news yet.

I remember seeing this as the old G4: Blister, Filter, Cheat, Arena, and Cinematech. Then when they merged with TechTv, we got AOTS and Xplay(dont know if they had it or G4 had it) Then we got AOTS, Xplay was given Cheat a few years down back, Blister is gone. Kevin and Adam left. Its sad to what it will become. I will miss those shows I have grown to love. G4 will be missed and I have to say good bye and I hope those host, find better jobs now.

Personally I thought G4 should have died a long time ago, to some it did, but for me I never care much for any of their shows. Even during its supposed heyday I really didn't think much of the channel but it lasted longer then I thought it would.

Adam left because he felt they were fuckers indeed. Kevin knew they planned to cancel AotS so he jumped ship as well while offers were still lucrative for him so he wouldn't be left with his thumb up his ass.

It was a nice network when it put effort in, but, yea. They lost focus and resorted to spiketv types of garbage to draw in cheap ratings rather than actually develop quality programming for the network.

Either way, G4 wont be missed because anyone who gave a damn already abandoned the network long ago and accepted it was dead. Indeed this is truly like putting a long suffering dog to sleep finally.
