Honestly, I am not so psyched about the second season...
It looks like the exact same thing over again- I've never read the comics, but I'm hoping the show will get more creative and the unexpected happens. "Splitting up" and having that damn RV break down isn't surprising its just like it's dragging on the inevitable death of them all.

The TV show is really silly if youve read the comics, like some of the stuff that goes on.. Like the gangsters taking care of grandmas was a dumb idea.. lol that never even happens in the books. The only reason I watch it is to see where it goes because the books are so amazing its not even funny! lah, I cant express it enough..

Of course they are going to deviate from the books, even more now that it's a huge hit. They don't want to alienate the legions of fans. I am gonna say it now, the best part of this season is gonna be Scott Ian as a zombie.

Bumping this. New season starts tonight at 8 central. Hopefully they only improve on what was an outstanding first season. From the trailer, it looks like we are going to have some people splitting from the group and going their own way, should be interesting.

It would be boring as SHIT if they copied the books to the letter though. As someone who's bang up to date with the books, i'm intrigued to see what changes they make, whilst also shitting myself with excitement to see what stuff they carry over.

Case in point...

Spoiler:
I'm sure anyone watching that first episode having not read the books will have been blown to their core - having read the books though, you could see it coming from a mile off.

BOOM!

If you haven't read, and have no intention of reading them...
Spoiler:
Carl actually shoots Shane dead seriously early in the comic books. That was my first feeling of what was going to happen when they seperated, but when when the deer showed up it was obvious.

That said, the scene was brilliantly put together.

I will get the set and read, seems to good to pass up.

By the way, how many volumes do the current compilations cover before I have to start buying single issues?

I think each volume is generally six issues but i think some might have strayed from that?

They're an incredible read, i'd never read a comic book until i got started on them. Read pretty much every issue in the space of about two or three weeks i think, every month waiting for a new issue kills me!
