I'm going through the season from the beginning again. Anyone want to field this question?

In season one, Jim was injured when the camp was attacked. Injured, but far from life threatening. The virus took a hold of Jim, who it's safe to assume later turned.

In season two, T-Dog was injured when the highway was attacked. Injured, but far from life threatening. T-Dog survived, and went on to become a spectacular piece of irrelevant background furniture.

What's the difference, particularly as Jenner told Rick that everyone is infected anyway?

Can anyone explain it other than either a) the writers changed their mind about what Jenner's secret was after Darabont left, or b) the cure to the whole epidemic is a prespecription drug that even Merle Dixon can get hold of!

Jim was bitten and died from an infection from the zombie, possibly some nasty shit in its saliva that maybe kick starts the virus into killing you or something.

T-Dog just cut himself on a piece of metal and just got a 'normal' infection.

*shrug*

But yet he did not turn. Which is weird, cause he should have died from the wound.

I think that the way that it works is that T-dog got treated for his infection by Hershel's crew. Not to mention that the line when they say that Merle's clap is the best thing that could have happened to him, implying it neutralized whatever T-dog had.

As for Jim... Well, imagine being bitten by a rotting corpse. Even if the virus isn't going to get to you, the nasty things that a rotten creature would have in its saliva is enough to enter your bloodstream.

Spoiler:
This subject is never truly explained in the comic in the first place, there's one character in the comic that exchanges saliva with a zombie and he didn't turned, yet anyone who gets bit will die and turn into a walker, unless they amputate the limb in time (assuming he got bit on one arm or leg).

Its irrelevant how you die, you will turn. The bites wont turn you, they just killed you.

Jenner's secret was never changed. If you listen closely to his whisper to rick on the Blu ray version with some audio configuration (can't remember it, sorry) and with all the volume up he actually said "It's in our blood. We're all carriers".

Anyone seen this? Michonne's backstory, featured in Playboy.

Hopefully they'll find a place for this in one of the hardback comic books in the future. Going to start my collection of those up next week, need to fill the gap until October!
