Just wondered what everyone else thought about the game after what they've seen at E3?

After Resi 5, i knew i'd enjoy RE6 to a degree but some of the stuff we've seen this week looked brilliant. The trailer (though i said i'd avoid them after the RE5 mess) looked great, the atmosphere and mechanics in Leon's demo looked great - and that short three minute video looking at all the champagnes looked amazing too.

It's pretty much shot up to being my most eagerly awaited game of the year now having had about three games ahead of it previously - and one of those was an XBLA game too!

The critics certainly seem to have loved it too...

So yeah, just wanted to know other people's thoughts?

Nice thread Stu!
I learned not to raise my hopes with video games anymore, particularly the Resident Evil series. I appreciate the hype and all, but it really bothers me when people try to dissect the story before it's release. It's not a bad thing...but it just seems sort of pointless. Around the last stages of release, I like to stay away from the media as much as possible as not to become spoiled, like I did with RE:5 (concerning Jill's "death" and her being "birdlady.")
After watching the first E3 coverage, I think I became hyped for the storyline, but lowered out by the game play. Enemies seem so...uninspired and that really bugs me.
Because of my loyalty to the series and overall enjoyment, I am always going to buy the Resident Evil games (The main ones) for the experience- but because of my uncertainty, I don't want to get my hopes up or even drop them. I like to remain a neutral gray. :P

Ps: champagne. lol

After E3 I think it is already my personal GOTY 2012! To be honest I think RE6 will become my favourite RE tittle ever. So yeah I'm pretty hyped!!

@ Agent_Gundlach I couldn't agree more. Straying away from all of the media as the game comes closer to release is your best bet. Same thing happened to me and it's not only the media but the temptation of that one thread that says "**** dies".

I also agree with the hypeness for the storyline and the uncertainty for the game play. I'm looking forward to Leon's the most for that old school feel but Jake's is the most intriguing to me.

I'm also glad that they took away the merchant  and that they didn't cave in and answer any of the storyline or returning characters questions (at least for now before the spoiler filled trailer releases  )

Overall: I'm excited for RE6, and I'm definitely excited for the demo this way I can get a better feel of the game play and controls .

Looks amazing to me. No complaints so far. Maybe a little less Bay explosions would be better, but not that big of a deal. They seem like they'll work well in context. I certainly wasn't expecting it to be as good as it's turning out to be.

I really liked the Merchant in RE:4 because it really seemed to fit in with the element of the location. I think it was very unique and interesting to buy/sell with the collectables that you'd find around the Village and Castle. However, the RE:5 weapon menu seemed extremely dull.
For RE:6, I have a feeling that if they had a merchant, you'd be able to upgrade, attach mods, and customize- which I HATE. In my opinion, it's confusing and boring, so I pretty much agree with you there.

But if you roam boards like IMDB, then you can prepare to get your ass spoiled by the game's release. Even at Biohaze, I have seem some dumbasses try and ruin the game for people by posting spoilers in the thread title. I am also excited by the gameplay and interactivity of the environment.

To be honest, I avoided a lot of the stuff shown at E3. All i saw was the new trailer and Leon's gameplay demo. I didn't watch Jake or Chris' or anything else because as mentioned, I don't want a repeat of RE5.

I was so hyped for 5 i must've watched those trailers for it like 100+ times. But, it was at the point that when RE5 came out, I knew pretty much everything already and had seen most of the scenes in the trailers that it kinda ruined the experience.

That's why with Revelations I avoided a great majority of the videos posted, especially close to release. And Revelations was a much more fun experience for me that way because I didn't already know what was gonna happen.

Trying to do the same for 6 but who knows how well that'll last the closer it gets to release and the more spoilery news that starts getting revealed soon.

Good to hear people saying ALL champagnes are looking good - the glimpse i saw of Jakes' didn't look all that good but i'm happy to take the word of those who've seen more of it.
