Now, I personally would dig on seeing new characters thrown into a reboot of the series. Possibly have Cindy Lennox and the rest of the guys from Outbreak thrown in there as well? Maybe it's a bit of old nostalgia, seeing as I just played Outbreak, but it's a good plan.

And I'm not all for having Alice in the video games, but I sure as hell wouldn't mind LJ or K-Mart being in the mix! I'm rambling. Ah, well. It's just a suggestion.

It would be nice! I'm hoping the new Resident Evil 6 title is a reboot of the series. With that, we'll have a reboot/sequel of the Outbreak characters as well. Hopefully, Resident Evil will go back to it's roots with the new game. They had a nice start with Lost In Nightmares, and I think if an extensive sequel were made in such a fashion (with more zombies, of course) would satisfy the thrist of die-hards.

Chloe, I think you are right, they should go back to the roots of it all. But, I think Sherry should have a part. She is a teenager now. And if not her than Jill or Claire. Jill clearly has a tactical advantage. Cindy, cool and calm, would be good in DLC. Kind of going to what happened after the outbreak. She could go back to the ruins of Raccoon City, and have flash backs. Wouldn't that be nice? :)

All I know is that I do not want to see Jill or Leon anytime soon.

Leon has been seen in enough games already. And Jill was just in RE5, regardless of whether she was a background character or not. Not to mention, Revelations features Jill. If you really think about it, Jill would probably not go anywhere without Chris if they were to ever embark on future endeavors. I want characters to come back because it actually means something to the plot or story arc, and not because of rampant fanboyism. It's bad enough Leon and Jill have turned into typical fan service characters, moreso in Jill's case.

I don't object to Claire being the main hero. But the problem is, what would be her angle? Why would she be in the next RE? For the most part, Chris is safe and has taken down his Nemesis. Sherry would be the only unexplored avenue capcom could take. I don't know. But I'd be down for Claire to be the main hero since she's probably the best actual character the series has ever come up with. Either Claire or someone entirely new who is actually compelling. But given how the RE fanbase likes to cling to the older characters like glue, I don't think a new character will get the appropriate welcome.

I agree. But, since Sherry has never been playable, it would be nice to see her in a game where she the main protagonist. She is like what, 24. Perfect!
