Ah, you just never said you got the console... that you were looking for one in your posts above.

Depending on where you live, modchipping isn't illegal, but when it comes to then using it with pirated software is really where the legal part of it comes to a point. At the end of the day I had my US PS1 which appeared, but afterwards I had my PAL console chipped so I could stop swapping my consoles around if I wanted to play my US discs. And so I just sold the US console. I had a Japanese Dreamcast for a while prior to the bootdisc which I also sold for the same reason.

But in any case I'm glad the whole thing is coming together... you'll be playing those US games in no time.

I'd only just sent for it and it cost me $64.

My next step is to buy the Dreamcast Region Free disc and then buy a Dreamcast again. I used to have one, but it didn't work properly.

I hear DC looks better on the Dreamcast. Funny how DC is short for Dreamcast and Dino Crisis.

Yeah, the PC and DC editions supported some good texture and lighting upgrades and because the decision was made early on to do so, they used the original materials at a higher resolution than the PS edition meaning they looked clean and crisp.

That's what they did with RE3 (even that game's audio), but with DC being realtime, the assets were scalable easily so everything was really the same in all versions but at different resolutions (and of course trilinear filtering and AA). In addition to higher rendering resolutions on DC and PC of course.

Well that's not a bad thing. The Dreamcast was way ahead of its time. I'm surprised it was discontinued only 2 years after it launched. It had some totally smart graphics and online gaming was still very new at the time it was introduced through Dreamcast. A shop near where I live has two on sale for just 20 pounds. Although I once had to return 3 Dreamcast consoles to a games exchange shop because the sound and picture was bad. The reason I want one again is because they were superb.

How can we make the Japanese version of the "Dino Crisis" game uncut?

I don't think you can get it unless you get the Japan one.

First you get the Japanese version and use Action Replay to find the uncut scene?
