^ Exactly my thoughts. I've played Revelations a lot. The episodic nature of it is perfect for the device it was developed and the story is a nice change from the usual Wesker vs Good Guys branch. The gameplay, graphics and story are solid. Shold definitely make its way to the consoles IMO.

Like I said in another thread, this generation of gamers is sadly known to prefer characters instead of the overall package. Had Barry and Wesker been in the game I'm sure the reception by fans would have been different.

Characters weren't a huge concern for me. They could have had all new chars and I would have welcomed it so long as the new chars were equally likable etc. Revelations wasn't a bad game at all. It's just the fact that the storyline is just very forgettable. It hooks you your first play through because of the episodic nature of it acting out like a tv show where each chapter ends on a cliff hanger which makes you want to keep coming back to find out what happens next.

But, once you've seen the whole story and know all the answers, it just gets to be kinda like "..........That's it?" I just expected more I guess. The story wasn't 'bad', it just wasn't anything very memorable in my opinion.

And then when you replay through the game and know all the answers already, the story just has no impact anymore because you already know it's rather tame. So there's no draw anymore.

Storyline is my biggest draw in RE games usually outside of online multiplayer. If the story doesn't really interest me, I don't really bother coming back to it much. That's why I only ever played through Zero once. Zero was a fine game. Gameplay wise etc. it was wonderful and really fun. But, story wise, it was 'ok', but nothing really memorable. Thus I never bothered to touch it a second time. Same for Revelations. Great game, enjoyed it all the way through. But, just not something that really holds my interest to wanna play through again.

Outbreak was like that the first time I played it before I went online with it. I played through all the levels and pretty much never wanted to touch teh game again because it bored the living crap out of me story wise. Then I got the network adapter for it and played it online and it became the most amazing experience ever.

If Revelations had Co-op I'd easily play through it multiple times no question. But, yeah :(

I've only beaten it twice -- mainly because Revelations is the first game I got after starting my career, but there was also Operation Raccoon City, which came out soon after. I'll replay it again around September before RE6 comes out.

It's looking like RE6 will largely be unrelated to Revelations after all. I hope they revisit this plotline sometime though.

From the moment i finished the game i could picture that particular story arc being largely restricted to just the 3DS/maybe Vita in the future. As someone who didn't care too greatly for the story i think that would be a good thing too.

Cant even bring myself to beat it really.

I dont mind a good prequel when it is worth it ( prometheus) but in this case i just hated the idea. The pacing is just so weird and back and forth, its jarring and i cant get into it. The charscters are ho-hum, standard cardboard rezzie so i didnt expect much.

Gameplay is alright, i hate the scanning mechanic and the swimming, only majoras mask did swimming right.

its just boring, the story is garbage and like said previously, with obrien and sharp beard talking alot but saying nothing almost no interesting tidbits have come up. Jill is entirely uninteresting here and not once in this game have i been dying to get back to it. Its not even a bad game its a qualty 3ds title, but my iterest never sparked once.

Raid mode also cant hold a candle to mercs, tried it to lvl 15 and got tired of it. Itll sit on my shelf til i have nothinf to play then ill finish it just for completions sake.

As a general rule - NO GAME should have swimming sections. Nine times out of ten they're the worst part of a game, the other time they're probably only just beaten into the second!

It might have been Dino Crisis 2, but I remember a game on the PS1 which nailed it, that and Shadow Complex (which is 2D so hard to mess up) are the best examples.

That said I thought the sections in Revelations were pretty well done, certainly far from the worst I've come across in games.

Hello, just recently went back to it since my PS3 YLOD'd. Playing through HELL mode and just rushing through it really. I was expecting a bunch of new enemy placements like the demo but I guess that was just eye candy? I do not find it to be that hard since I completed NORMAL 2 times and used my carried over weapons on the HELL run. Getting pretty close. I also do not plan on finding all of the handprints unless a friend searches for them with me.

I am replaying this right now. It is a nice relief of rarely running into enemies and I don't really mind getting lost. Rachel and that other guy (forgot his name if even had one) were really creepy when they could actually speak when attacking you.

The game has a lot of replay value and is one of the few RE games in the new line up that you can enjoy without the necessity of another player.
