I was reading in to him and it made me think. Nicholai was a "Monitor" in the UBCS for Umbrella, meaning he was in Racoon City exclusively for research data. Then he ends up killing all of the other Monitors so that he can be the only one with the research. Thats the thing, do you think theres a possibility that he might have been working for "The Organization"? Gathering data for them, and killing all the others so Umbrella would turn up empty handed? Or was it really just him looking to be in high regards to Umbrella.

It was all about megabucks for him, he even says this himself to Jill. Killing off all the other monitors and then returning to Umbrella with exclusivity of information. If he's got EXCLUSIVE information and combat data then he can negotiate a larger bonus for his work. I even wonder if he was all that loyal to Umbrella to begin with, though he clearly had the ear of a certain Soviet colonel who was one of the major players of the Umbrella hierarchy.

Personally, I think he worked for Umbrella for as long as it suited him. Wouldn't surprise me if he got the fuck out of Dodge the moment everything went tits up, which would be at some point after Raccoon City.

The Organisation would have had a use for someone with Nicholai's talents, but only if the money was good.

There's still the unexplained matter regarding his fate. Did he get a tentacle through the skull? Did he get toasted when his helicopter blew up? Or did he get away scot free? Like Capcom is ever the type to answer questions.

They more or less answered it in CODE:Veronica. The Gulp Worm, Black Widow etc were based on data recorded on the Grave Digger and Giant Spiders and so on in Raccoon City. Umbrella only had one means to acquire this data, and it was through the Monitors. Nicholai was the last Monitor in the city. Pretty simple matter as far as I'm concerned.

I REALLY wanna find out what really happened to him after Raccoon City got nuked. Silver Fox lives, IMO. He was at the end of Outbreak standing in the rubble heap, FYI. Yes, I know there's a note in Survivor that relates to him surviving, but in the Japanese release, no such thing can be found! ;)

It's heavily implied since he spent 3 days murdering the rest and states it himself that he'll be the last one to go back for the big bucks, plus no other Monitors have ever been said to have survived.

Also, his codename is Silver Wolf, not Silver Fox. The latter is a mistranslation.

Silver Fox is the nickname for Nichoai, and it's stated in a file in either TDC or TUC. I cannot remember which one.

In the post credits FMV scene in RE: Outbreak, Nicholai is standing amongst the ruins of the city. I frequently have to remind people that that is how I know he survived...

Sorry to burst your bubble. But if the city was nuked as everything implies. Nothing within a hundred miles survived unless it was deep underground. And even then nobody would be standing in the rubble for about a gazillion years.
