To get A, i think you have to finish the game under 2 hours with no FAS, atleast 30% of files collected and a maximum of 1 save. That really shouldn't be hard, since killing nemesis adds nothing to your overall score, you can just avoid him and fight him only when it's a must to advance (clocktower and the 2 fights at dead factory)

You gotta be kidding me. Doging Nemesis is easy but onyl one save?

The game is short, usually takes me 1:30h. 1 save is more than enough, since code veronica didn't allow u to save at all to get A and it was a lot longer.

Never thought PC-version is as much easy, comparing with your report... Actually I've played it on PC and lots of time had A-Rank. To complete it I needed time less then 2 hours, 2 FAS only and 3 saves maximum. Lastly I made some speedrun try, I had no saves and 1:05 h. I could proggress, but quitted. BTW, what do I need to complete S-Rank?

I doubt I could do 1 save. I have too much bad luck on the grave digger and Nemesis fight in the room with the acid valves. (THOSE DAMN VALVES DON'T TURN WHEN YOU SHOOT THEM....)

I assume you have the PSX NTSC version? If so, then you can save up to 3 times and have extra 30 minutes on your clock.

To the writer above you, S rank is only unlockable in biohazard 3 (JP) version, though you can still get S in mercenaries.

1:30? Geez, I always take a long time to play it, maybe because it is my favorite but I always take a lot. And CV didnt let you save? They were in drugs or what?

Sorry to bump an old topic, but didn't think what I have to say warrants an all new thread.

I'm currently playing through this game on hard for the first time in years... I've always been intimidated by the thought of fighting nemesis without alot of ammo and health, so like a wuss I avoid hard mode.

lol I gotta say, this game is kicking my ass. I never realized how relentless the zombies are in this game until now. Other games they pose little threat, but here they hunt your ass in numbers, not to mention they seem a hell of alot faster.
I'm now at the clocktower at the part where you can choose to electricute Nemesis. I keep doing it so I can get shotgun parts A.

But I have a question, is the special shotty worth it? I fry his ass, but when he gets back up he keeps killing me so I can't get the B parts. Which is sad cuz I have like 30 grenade rounds yet he keeps pwning the shit outta me. Should I just say f the shotgun and flee?

Well pffft, nevermind. Killing him after you electricute him seems to give you fuck all lol.

Regardless of that waste of time, I'm having a blast with this game.
Playing it on hard mode is like a completely new experience.

I've never died this many times playing a Resi game, but it's completely due to the fact that I always stay and fight Nemesis, thinking he'll drop some new toy. The eagle hand gun is a beast.

The Eagle handgun is definitely a gun you should strive to get as early on as possible. It allows you to use your handgun on all zombies and save your good ammo for Nemesis or whatever.

And about the grenade launcher thing... there's so much recoil on the normal shotgun and the g. launcher that it makes them nearly impractical to use against Nemesis. The key is just firing one shot, two with the shotgun if he doesnt start running at you fast enough, and switching to a small gun to be more nimble and dodge him until you can get away, then switch back.

About the Hard Mode shotgun, yes it actually is very useful. It has the power of a shotgun but the mobility of the regular handgun, almost. This makes it absolutely necessary for hunters, and of course Nemesis.
