That's pathetic, not all games can be E rated you know, if they were, the Video Games industry would be worth a lot less than it really is.

I've played Resident Evil games since I was 4 years older than the child in question. I'm now 19. I don't see an issue with letting that kid play RE3. The mother sounds like a whackjob.

Ironically confrontational, anti-video game vigilantes and scene makers are old news. So, I have a similar story with a completely different twist. Read on:

A few years ago, my mother worked at a department store. She told me, once when she had to work the cash register, a young boy tried to buy an M-rated game. When he couldn't produce a viable form of identification, she explained that only someone 17 or over could buy said game. Minutes later, the kid's mother came back and threw a loud fit for being interrupted because the kid couldn't buy the game himself. She didn't concede to such silly explanations as "store policy" or that pesky "federal law." In the end, she had her little scene, made her threats, and bought the blood, gore, and sex packed game for her son.

Sometimes, people just need somebody else to bitch at about their soap box issues. So, get a therapist.

I just find it hard to understand women like that. RE was part of my childhood, my mother played the game, my Aunt played the game, and my family loved it. They're the ones who got me into it and I used to watch my mum play it when I was very very young. She encouraged it. So for a mum to flip out like that just because a kid looks at a game is surreal for me.

The title is misleading. I thought by 'blacked out', it meant she passed out in the shop.... >_>

Anyway, I hate people like that mom.

I don't think I'd let my child play these games either. I could let it slide if the kid was 12 or 13. By that time, you can tell fantasy from reality. I don't think they should put adult games with kid themed games though, but they can't exactly make sections for each genre, so they just put them in the same bay. At the end of the day, though, that mother did make somewhat of a fuss.

I've been playing Resident Evil and Grand Theft Auto since I was very young, and I haven't yet felt the need to go on a killing spree.

Of course kids know fantasy from reality unless they've not been raised properly. I played my first videogame when I was 3. It's a videogame, who cares? It's a zombie game. It's hardly going to disturb them for life.

Games when you were 3 and games for 3 year olds now are hardly comparable though.

True, but that's what mothers get for even taken their kids near these 'curious' classics. :D

"Oh look mum, that's the game I saw them talking about on Biohaze! Yeah, Biohaze are a internet post site for big boys, but their registration page was missing that!"

I think. Have not looked or really paid any attention to whether you guys have one of these "enter your DOB" thingy whatever. :D
