I just have a feeling that it is an Ada clone. I know everyone's been talking about "Ada wouldn't do this" and "Ada's not like that", but really think about what we already know and have already seen about Ada in the past. During the Raccoon City Incident, she had several opportunities to kill Leon. She even had an opportunity to let him bleed to death when he took a bullet for her. Did she do any of that? Nope. She patched him up. She even threw a rocket launcher to him to help him off the Tyrant. Now before I get the slew of "But it's Leon, Leon is special", keep in mind that as an agent, Ada has the responsibility of finishing the mission and leaving no survivors.

I wish that the "Ada Clone" leak was kept hush hush, because that's a BIG spoiler. It'd have been more shocking seeing Ada go postal and acting like a true villain in the trailer. Instead, now with the leak, it actually makes sense.

QFMFT

Same thing applies to Spain, where she was directly ordered by Wesker to kill Leon, yet she doesn't. Why? Because as we know now she was only working for Wesker to further her mission for her real employers. So there was no need to follow his orders and Leon's death served no purpose to finishing her assignment. And at the end she had him dead to rights and could have offed him then and there no questions asked. As much as anyone wants to cast her in a bad light, she is not inherently evil, if she was we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Please no clone Ada...once you throw cloning in the story it just gets ridiculous. Characters being killed off and then revealed to be a clone is just stupid.

I agree. Please no clones!!

If capcom brings in clones I may have to give up on this series from a story perspective. That's how ridicoulos clones would be.

Why a clone is so far fetched in a series about zombies and all kinds of viruses turning people into monsters or superhumans, though? Besides, Code: Veronica already introduced cloning.

It's not far fetched at all in resident evil, it's just a horrible story tool that can be abused and is used far too often if you ask me. It's a lame excuse to make a character (who is not the actual character at all...) do uncharacteristic things or to simply kill a main character only to later reveal that it was a clone. Way to overused, simple, and not an interesting story element for future resident evil titles because once it happens once..it can happen again.

You start to learn about a character (Ada for example), her role in the game, and to possibly reveal her motives in the series after being in the gray area for so long. And in the end, only to accomplish nothing story related once it's revealed to be a clone.."Oh that wasn't me, that was my evil clone.." Capcom can do better, and can give the fans a much better story twist than that. And if it is true, it should never of come out this early prior to the games release. Just the fact that people are talking about it now will ruin it in the story if it's true. I'm hoping for some good story elements, and I simply don't think cloning a main character is the way to go. =)

Umm, this clone thing supposed to be write as "spoiler"?
Anyhow, reading this topic it feels like RE is going to get ideas from a bad soap opera. People get kill and then get back to life?
"Oh it was my evil twin sister!"
"Sister! Finally we meet after these years!"
Who will win? It all be revealed in RE7 (and there is also be Wesker clone)

...? Did you play the games from the start? That's been happening since RE1.

As for the "spoiler", everyone is just speculating at the possibility of this scenario. No one has confirmed or denied its validity, so...

Well to be fair, no one has ever claimed Ada is a full on villain. If she was, she 'would' kill people like Leon etc. without a second thought. However, we know she's not like that. The point that was being brought up was that Ada 'would' kill an innocent if she 'had' to.

It's kinda like on Angel in the episode Power Play of Season 5. We all know Angel's a good guy and doesn't kill innocents. But, he actively does kill an innocent in that episode because he's forced into a corner. He's trying to earn the trust of the bad guys to learn about their plan and they put him in a corner and give him a friend of his as a sacrifice to prove his loyalty to them and he has no choice but to kill his innocent friend to save face and not blow his cover and get himself killed in the process too. And in killing the innocent, his own team and friends begin to doubt and mistrust him and believe him to have become evil. Which is kinda his plan all along. He 'needed' his own team to mistrust him and actively question his actions so it would help sell it to the bad guys that he had 'crossed over' and they would trust him that he was indeed evil like them.

That's how I see Ada. She's not a 'badguy'. She's a grey area character who is out to further her own agenda which none of us really know about anyway. But, from what we've seen, she isn't malevolent or anything. She does have morals and isn't one to just mindlessly kill an innocent. But, if her mission directly calls for it and she has no other choice, she will do what she has to do. And if she needs to prove herself to an 'evil' ally, she'll do what she has to to win that trust even if it means doing something 'evil'.

Like in RE6. Her infecting all of Chris' team and killing them all could either be A) It's Carla (Ada Clone) or B) Ada wants Chris to figure out what is going on and wants to use him as a tool to help her in her plan. But, for whatever reason, she's under heavy monitoring or who knows what, she can't just outright ask for his help or tell him what's going on. So her only choice is get him to hate her so he'll follow her, actively seek her out and all information on what's she's doing and her plans so in the process he can learn about what's going on and help stop it just like she wants.

So in the process she has to murder innocents to achieve her goal and manipulate Chris into doing what she needs him to do.

That would very well be within proper characterization of Ada. Yes, her killing the innocents is 'wrong' and 'bad'. But, if comes to be revealed she did 'murdered dozens to save millions', it would be a more understandable and acceptable act even if we don't fully agree with it. But, again, she's a grey area character. She's not 100% goody goody moral. She's a spy, that means by default she's going to have to do some dirty work.
