Very glad Biohaze hit this milestone. It's backed by a great team and I love working with every one of them.

Hey, I was a moderator there for a while. :rcg:

Seriously, I only resigned after the merge and when it went to filth. Prior to that, it was actually a very tight knit community and one that I loved (2002).

Don't sweat it, I was on the other side of the fence with GameFAQs before the merger (though not ages before). The merger alongside the rise of the newer generation by 05 really spiced things up... Used to be a great resource before for importers.

I used to go to GameFAQ's almost everyday up until middle of 2003... then I got sick of it. Attitudes changed and then the merger just really killed it. My passion for FAQ's fizzeled with it, although I can say I was never as prolific as cvxfreak was back in the day ;P

I love Biohaze. The passion and content reminds me of how I used to be about the series and how New Blood used to be up until I was forced into moving in 2002 and then due to the very heavy traffic crippling the host I was with, having to merge with REFan.

I don't begrudge the merger I went through at all, it was my suggestion to keep both sites alive at the time, but the community at REFan was just so different and just wasn't my cup of tea which didn't help my focus on the site. I miss the tight knit group I had at NB between 1999 and 2003, and thus coming to a place like Biohaze reminds me that there are great friendly fans and passionate website operators still out there.

Additionally when I used to run RESitez is enjoyed working with the different webmasters each day and seeing everyones sites, but in a world of cookie cutter social networking pages, Wikia pages, and Capcom actually trying to build a community - fan sites like Biohaze are dying off. And so I apperciate greatly the hard work Yama and the rest of the staff does to provide this website for everyone.

Here is to more success for the Biohaze team and site for many more years!

You tell 'em grampa, or in this case, man 4 years younger than me

To an extent, that's why I post here occasionally and check for news here. Years ago, I would've easily bought ORC and anything RE related without hesitation, now I'm more selective and look for the main series titles. I'm just not sick of the series yet, nor do I think I'll ever be.

Naturally I find myself losing it with some younger fans once in a while but that comes with age I suppose

Is it 4 years or just 3... I forget. Due to my old age :D

Sometimes I surprise myself that after 15 years of following the series and over 13 years of that being online invovled in different ways with the franchise that I still do, but it's much the same as you said... I'm still interested and probably will always be, but I am also more selective on what I play or invest into. I won't buy a platform just for one RE title anymore like I did for the Dreamcast and GameCube, even though I got more out of those platforms I purchased in the end.

Even on platforms I own I'm selective. I'm renting ORC... the previews coming out so close to release tell me I'd expect to see it in bargin bins like Capcom's Dark Void and Bionic Commando in no time. :p

I used to have issues with some of the post RE4 fans because of the changed outlook on the franchise at first, another reason as to why by 2008 I'd more or less limited my work on the site I was working on, but I've well gotten past that point now.

Sorry for derailing the topic into aging fan talk guys... I'll shut up now... :D

There was a time when Rombie's name struck fear and respect into the hearts of many, but nowadays hardly anyone knows who he is. He's a refugee in the community. He's a bit like Zaeed Massani from Mass Effect 2, now that I think about it.

Biohazard Extreme used to be my favorite RE fansite. I used to go to it daily and thought it was the most amazingly awesome website ever, and this is back when I was in High School. Then it got shut down and I had to find a new site. I remember Rombie and REFan and New Blood from around that time too. But, it was Biohaze that truly made me feel at home again like BHE did. And Biohaze had Rombie and CVXFreak (who I knew obviously from his FAQ's on gamefaqs) I've stuck with Biohaze ever since, because it's the only site I truly connected with since BHE. And the only forum I post on regularily outside of GameFAQS.

Biohaze is probably the community I've been most active with as well. Meeting up in New York for the RE5 Viral campaign was more than I've ever done for any website, and I thought that was pretty fun and I'm good friends with a number of people from the community. I'd love to be able to meet up again sometime in the future for another event.

To me there's RE fans, and then there's Biohaze members. Biohaze members are far better and more enjoyable than the typical RE fan. I'm proud to be a member and look forward to the Haze's future :)

Used to be a member there ages ago (not sure how long I have truly been there but I can assume about 9 years... give or take) yep... ohh btw I recently earned a 10 year member achievement on The Old LOZ.com site which has been changed to Xero gaming back in november...
