Those characters are hardly the main focus of the game though, are they?
The game seems to center around Chris, Jill, and Jessica for the most part..... as long as they, and the story around them are well developed, I don't mind a couple of "comic relief" side characters. Besides, this wouldn't be the first game in the series that had some what shallow side characters. As long as there is a solid main cast, I don't see what the big deal is.

Minus the anime writer part, your complaints have been my complaints as well. The generic looking monsters that all look alike minus where there spikes are located, along with the absolutely boring new chars.

But, despite those issues, the game itself seems quite interesting and definitely on the right path. And new 'dumb' chars really isn't going to interfere much. RE5 introduced all those new idiot BSAA members who added nothing to the story and were throw aways. Didn't ruin RE5 for 'me' because the Chris/Jill/Wesker thing was the main story and that's all that really mattered.

Chris and Jill are still the main focus in Revelations, and that's all that really matters. The new idiots can do whatever they want, I really don't care much for any of them and they're not likely crucial to the story, so no real problems there. It's honestly not much different than the STARS team members in RE1 who were throw aways, or Marvin/Ben/etc. in RE2, etc. The only thing Joseph, Marvin etc. have going for them is nostalgia. If 'new' chars were introduced in a new RE that played the same identical role as Richard, Ben etc., I highly doubt anyone would truly remember or care about them the way many people remember and care about Richard and friends.

Either way, glad to see you're still going to get it despite your lackluster interest in it. From the way you were talking, it seemed like you were totally gonna skip it, which is why I was curious what made you hate it so much.

So, $50 because of a bigger cart and because they put effort into making the game...

Fully agree the mercs 3D should have been way cheaper by their own logic, but, again, Revelations definitely seems to be far more of a console quality game than an actual handheld, so an extra $10 is 'reasonable' for those merits.
