Milla Jovovich has shared new details on the upcoming live-action film through her twitter account.

The fifth film in the series sees the return of Sienna Guillory, reprising her role as Jill Valentine (Resident Evil Apocalypse, Resident Evil Afterlife) but now as the main antagonist. The film will include fight scenes involving Guillory and Jovovich's characters at Moscow's Red Square.

Previously introduced characters Claire and Chris Redfield and K-Mart (Ali Larter, Wentworth Miller and Spencer Locke) won't return for the sequel as they have now been captured by the Umbrella Corporation. Now it's up to Alice, Ada Wong, Leon S. Kennedy and Barry Burton to go rescue them.

Shawn Roberts will reprise his role as Albert Wesker and Las Plagas will also be part of the story.

Resident Evil Retribution begins filming October 16th, and is due out on September 14th, 2012.

This movie is going to push me over the edge of insanity. He's going to take 3 of the most loved characters, including the best of them all and completely douche them up.

I can see how this is gonna go down right now.

Ada is gonna be played by Devon Aoki, the only Asian actress people seem to go to when they need an Asian-American person who knows how to fight (and are on a budget).



Leon is gonna be played by whatever no-name muscle-head tweenage love actor they can find. Probably this guy.



And Barry is going to look completely unlike Barry we all know and love. His actor will come out of the SyFy channel's pool of washed up "used-to-be-good" actors they use to headline stuff. I bet something like Neal McDonough.

Actually, they want Jensen Ackles (from Supernatural) to play Leon, but, aside from that, I fully agree. Love the whole "Chris/Claire/Kmart won't return cause Umbrella captured them" excuse too. Lolol.

Milla said Jensen can't be in the movie because he's busy shooting Supernatural.

Hmm, alright then. I remember them gunning for him since Apocalypse. Guess it's for the best, he's actually a pretty decent actor. No need to tarnish his name with these pieces of crap. Movie deserves someone more like Wentworth Miller who's already a talentless douche so it doesn't make a difference.
