What has that to do with disliking Leon? I don't think anyone is denying the fact that RE4 indeed revitalized the series.

Personally, I would much rather have other characters take the spotlight for once (Ada, Barry, Rebecca, etc.). One can only hope there's more to it than just Leon...

I think Capcom is MAYBE taking this Leon success to the head. Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 4 and Degeneration brought in tons of revenue to the company (more so than what they projected). All of them featured Leon as the main protagonist or a co-star.

Perhaps they think more Leon equals more cash. However, Leon's character in Degeneration was just awful. I dont need to go into detail as to why.

In any case, I also agree that a meeting amongst our main cast is long over due. Leon and Jill need to have at least one meeting where we actually see them together, so does Jill and Claire.

I think the best confrontation would be one between Chris, Jill and Ada. Now this would be very interesting. Throw Leon in there and we have the most epic meeting in gaming history lol.

Just making a point that Leon is a massive part of the series now whether people like it or not, and that people should get used to it.

Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm still not sure I understand the complaints that Leon is "overexposed." I mean, we really haven't been seeing him any more recently than Chris and Jill.

I mean, look at it this way. Chris and Jill were both in The Umbrella Chronicles and Resident Evil 5. Jill had two DLC scenarios for RE5 that were focused almost exclusively on her, though Chris also starred in Lost in Nightmares. Chris is appearing in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 as a playable character, and both Chris and Jill will be starring in Revelations.

Leon starred in Resident Evil 4 and co-starred in Degeneration with Claire. He was in The Darkside Chronicles and will now be appearing once again in Damnation.

Counting ports of games he was in or the mobile games based on Degeneration is really just nitpicking. If you wanted to go that route, then you must also include titles like Resident Evil: Deadly Silence, the PSN releases of the first three Resident Evil games, RE5: Gold Edition, the PC version of RE5, Resident Evil Genesis for mobile phones, etc. And when you do that, I'm pretty sure Chris and Jill would still come out on top.

I am glad that they are finally planning on making another new cg movie. I hope to see more on it soon.

YES! I hope it has Rebecca Chambers in it, I would like to know what happened to her after the events of RE1. Not too sure about Leon being in it again, I'd prefer it if another character takes the lead role.

Having it set after RE6 would be good, with zombies of course.

Wow, some of you really don't like Leon anymore. lol

In my opinion this movie will be a pre-quel/teaser for Re6. Very similiar in the way Degen was for Re5. It was very small, and not too important in Degen's plot, but at the end of the film you see tricell making it's appearence. Damnation will probably have something similar, if not having a bigger hint/teaser for Re6 in it.

This also made me come to the optimistic solution that Re6 will be released in 2012!!! If Damnation comes out Q1 of 2012 then it can give us fans some time to ponder our thoughts on the film, and whatever easter eggs are put in the film to reference the upcoming game. Then Re6 can be released in Q3 of 2012!

But seriously, I really think this is going to be a BIG set up for Re6. Weather it means Leon is in re6 or not, I'm not sure. I've just got a hunch.

It's not really about whether anyone likes Leon or not. I dislike post RE2 Leon because they changed him too much and made him into a generic action hero 'badass' type of Mary Sue char. It just didn't sit well with me considering I actually really liked RE2 Leon.

None the less, it's not even about liking or disliking Leon. It's simply the fact that Leon was the main star of the last film, so most fans would like it if someone else got to star in the next one. I mean hell, I'm not even a 'fan' of Barry Burton really, he's cool but he is not main star material by any means to me, yet, I still would say I'd rather have him lead the movie than Leon just to give another RE char a turn in the movies.

The CG films are pretty much nothing but fan service in most respects, so we already had Leon fan service for that. Putting fan service towards someone like Rebecca, Carlos, billy, or even Chris and Jill despite their over exposure seems more appropriate. Again, films are vastly different from the games because all the chars have had a fair turn in the games whereas the films are simply there for fan service and for us to watch our favorite chars in really pretty graphics and just enjoy the eye candy and fun of the film and action. So it'd be nice to see that with another char other than Leon, since we already did Leon, that's all.

Now the only exception to this rule is if they had announced Claire as the main char. Only reason I think most people would be ok with that over Leon is because Claire didn't get a lot of screentime/action in Degen as Leon did, and most fans felt dissapointed that she only really had one major short scene to herself.

Though, storyline wise with her quitting fighting, it made sense for her character and I feel treading on that in a future film would kinda hurt that character development so I suppose I wouldn't want Claire to be the main lead either for that reason. But, yeah.

Just prefer they give someone else a shot in the CG films aside from Leon is all. But, either way as I said, I'm sure it'll be fun and cool to watch regardless.

I'm alright with Leon starring in another CG movie. As long as he ain't the robot that he was in Degeneration.
