It pretty much is the word of god. In the "Extras" menu the PS3 people got, there is a completely separate option for "Mercs Reunion". I saw it in that video that got removed.

^ It IS a separate mode, but there could be the ability to play co-op with players using the original mercenaries if both have the new DLC.

I suppose...I'll believe when I see it though, I don't think someone who works for Capcom would say it's not possible if it was.

Me too, but a moderator isn't someone necessarily working for Capcom, just an employee for their community division. Anyway, I kinda doubt we'll have that possibility but I'd love to be proven wrong next week.

I hope it's possible, because I want to play Jill/Barry Co-Op.
Then Barry must have an extra quote: ''That was too close. You were almost a Jill sandwich.'' every time Jill is saved from death. LOL

It is just a pity that they can't be used in versus mode. I am wondering if Capcom will release a new versus mode called "versus reunion" lol.

I think You can Play Duo (Online) between both the Old Mercenaries & The new one
If someone is hosting from the original Mercenaries , Then it will use the original Mercenaries Sets & spawns
& Vice-Versa

I don't think it's possible. I think that if you hit The Mercenaries Reunion, you get the options: Start & Leaderboards. If you press start, you'll get: Solo, Duo or Split Screen, just like the old Mercenaries.
