One thing what has bugging me in many early RE games: where are all the female zombies? Like in RE 2, there is maybe 2 or 3 female zombies... just saying...

I would like to say because of limitations but then again there aren't that many female zombies period in the following installments. Hell, there weren't that many female ganados/majinis and the movies did show female zombies from time to time. No child zombies is understandable but it is a good question as there ought to be female officers other than Rita in the RPD. You also tend to wonder if Claire was the only female prisoner on Rockfort.

Capcom slips them in here and there, in outbreak file 2 they added two varients of female officer zombies. on top of that there were like three of four civillian female zombies and Darkside added female soliders to the CV segment. if theres any game thats oddly devoid of women it would be the original and remake.

I'll assume that there were female researchers at the Arklay lab and female trainees at the Management Training Facility, but we just don't see them. The projector in the lab in Remake shows a female scientist in a picture with four other male scientists (one of which was Wesker).

That female researcher could have been Annette or some nameless female researcher. The Perry novel did make "E. Smith" into "Ellen Smith" whom outranked Wesker and had a crush on her but became zombified and got gunned down by him.

It could have just been a design oversight...

Unlikely but a probable answer: the lack of child zombies and fewer female zombies could be due to a concern that more "sensitive" players may feel uneasy, uncomfortable or disturbed by killing said zombies (thus potentially reducing sales)...even though its just a damn videogame....

Hey, it's always okay if a man is brutalized in a videogame. But a child or woman? Hold on to your horses, here come the lawyers!
