Sorry if its already been posted some wheres else but does it bother anybody the slight changes to the story/cannon these new on rail shooters bring about? In UC and DC we are revisiting(or first visit for some) our old mansion(s)/town(s) but with a twist...granted we can't get the games to be the exact same as the old games since it be a port/would not work as a rail shooter/ etc etc but is there something that you find that have been altered too much? somethings you found they've screwed up? would you be OK to accept this as cannon and consider the older games take on things irrelevant?

Just like to hear you guys/gals thought on this

personally I love revisiting old areas in these new games as long as they aren't strictly cannon( the old game override this is juts a slight re imagine of it or whatever)

They are different takes of the same story, the original games are cannon. No one is going to talk about the story of RE2 and reference what happened in DSC. The new content these games bring is part of the RE storyline though.

Remake showed that you can update with integrity & keep the original story intact ~ Yet again Capcom have spoilt opportunity with lazy development.

I personally liked it. If they were canon, then no, but the old games are still canon and that is all that matters.

If capcom are going to make a fun rail shooter, they need a certain degree of creative freedom to do it. And games are about fun, not about recording and documenting the history of a fictional world.

So change whatever the hell they want if it opens up cool possibilities within the gameplay. It's only a re imagining anyways.

Anyone who gets their panties in a knot over changes in the story in a chronicles game really really takes things to seriously.

Story can be changed a bit for all i care, since it's not canon anyway. But why they made the controls so bad is beyond me.

Yeah I really disliked the camera in DSC. It's hard enough to shoot some bosses in the critical area much less with the camera constanly shaking. It is also a lot harder to find files as you can't move the camera around like you could in UC. I found it very fustrating.

The only thing that pissed me off about the story, was how Alfred died. Alexia doesn't kill him. That was lame.

The thing that killed DSC for me was the god awful voice acting. I don't know if it was intended to be that bad or not but it just killed it for me. In this age there is no reason for that awful voice acting. Plus Dead Space is better.

EDIT: 1000 posts!!! YAY!!

I think it was pretty good (Except Manuela voice who sounded pretty unfitting)

I agree totally with this, just.....I wished they actually made the games more fun, at times i found travelling through the environments a bit boring and slow. For me seeing all the old environments in 3d was nice but for a new player to the series I could see it getting more than tedious.
