Capcom seemed to have some event the last few days so many sites have updated impressions on DSC.

Kotaku - http://kotaku.com/5386205/resident-evil-the-darkside-chronicles-impressions-ea-vs-capcom

Gamesradar - http://www.gamesradar.com/wii/resident-evil-the-darkside-chronicles/preview/resident-evil-the-darkside-chronicles-hands-on/a-20091020132219788032/g-2009031214024334035

IGN - http://wii.ign.com/articles/103/1036375p1.html

1up - http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3176567

Gamespot - http://www.gamespot.com/wii/action/biohazardthedarksidechronicles/news.html?sid=6233405&tag=topslot;title;5&mode=previews

And here is some pre-order bonus GameCrazy is doing with the game, http://www.gamecrazy.com/games/game.aspx?id=14317

Overall the previews are not jumping for joy, most have issues with the game. But they agree that it should be a good game.

Hmm, i'm actualy starting to get the impression that the first level of the game will be Op Javier stage 1, then it will flashback to RE2, back to Javier, then CVX etc etc, i think this will be a much better way to present the game.

Then once you have completed it, you can then play each level seperately in their entirity.

Thanks dvader for the heads up :)

The GameCrazy link isn't working for me :(

The reviews all mention CV, and I think I look forward to that addition the most. The new area Steve and Claire enter sounds intense.

Personally, the 1up interview bothers me. Why even mention you aren't a big fan of the game? That's just a little pet peeve of mine though lol, I like unbiased reviews.

As long as the gameplay is equal if not better than Umbrella Chronicles I will be ok. I 'm actually curious to see how well it sells. I read at gamespot that Dead Space Extinction has only moved 9300 units (Ouch) and thats a great playing game. Certainly doesn't bode well that the Wii mature games are tanking on the system.

I'd just like to point out that it probably has nothing to do with them being mature games; it has more to do with name recognition.

Dead Space, MadWorld, etc.: all are really fresh IPs that aren't on the level of Resident Evil.

I get the feeling that the new Silent Hill will sell fairly well when it comes out...

Dead Space sold very well on PS3 and X360 formats. EA gambled by shifting a "prequel" game to the Wii. The last Silent Hill that came out didn't sell well on PS3 and X360 when released about a year ago.. Can't see how it will be the "mature game" that makes it on the Wii.

Thanks for the heads up dvader, I'm really lookin' forward to this game.

PS: The reason Silent Hill is going to sell good on Wii is because it's not an Americanised game trying to copy the identity of the previous installments, it's something totally new like Resident Evil 4 was, and I'm liking the looks of it.

I'm not keen on the way they handle the games now, but it should be good. I think it will get a high score, but it will probably not be as scary, interesting or thought provoking as the far greater earlier games.

Fans are like two halves. You get your RE4/5 era fans and then there's the old school fans. This game as well as The Umbrella Chronicles is a decent mixture of both old school RE stages and exploration, but I was not fully satisfied the last time around. That game was great in that Wesker was the central focus. But I don't think The Darkside Chronicles will be a patch on it.
