Kadokawa is publishing a new Resident Evil novel. This one unlike the manga, is directly based on the game. At the moment there's no word for a release outside Japan.

Price: 630 yen (US$ 5,69)

Release date: December 22, 2007 (Japan)

ISBN: 978-4-04-352211-8-C0193

Awesome! I can't wait!

I'm tired of reading the same Resident Evil novels over and over again.

Seems a little weird to throw together a novel all about the game...Capcom are really throwing some money at this aren't they?

Well, if they cram it with loads of concept art i'll be all over this!

Me & Prog were gonna write our own RE novel simply titled "T". We did loads of research, using this site's predecessor "Everything Resident Evil", and I stayed up 'till the wee hours of the morning pouring through files and writing down character relation charts. Then 'Archives' was announced.
I still think we could've done a better job...
Hopefully this novel will present the material in Umbrella Chronicles in a more canonical way that fits better with the games in the main series. Has anyone(who can read Japanese) read it yet? Is this really going to be a Japan-only release? If not, who will handle the localization? I think Steve Perry and his daughter Stephanie are fine writers, and should be commissioned for the task.
