Capcom have this brilliant new plan on money making you all must hear about!

Quote:
Capcom will be upping its output of Resident Evil, according to a report from Nikkei's web edition.

As part of a general report on attempts by publishers to reduce development times, the site states that Capcom aims to increase output of popular series like Resident Evil from the current two titles per year to three or four titles per year.

Developing a large scale title requires a staff of over 100. To increase output, Capcom plans on making use of outsourcing, centered primarily on North American and European studios. Through the use of external resources, Capcom believes it can reduce development times from four years to between two and three years.

Capcom's goal in all of this is to avoid the falling sales and earnings it experienced last year. The company aims to stabilize earnings by releasing more software.

EDIT: None of them will be RE6.

Quote:
"These new Resident Evil games won't be Resident Evil 6 or Resident Evil 7 or anything like that. They will be spin-off titles."

Sad , But It's not a big problem ...

“We announced Resident Evil Revelations and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition at E3, but these are not included in our plan for this fiscal year. At present, it’s (timing for 3DS game releases are) to be determined.”

You can't really say that given that the 3DS' launch date is still TBA.

But if it comes out next March or April, then RE:R has a shot at being a launch (or launch-window) title.

“I’ve been most impressed with the Nintendo 3DS. The Resident Evil demo was very impressive. The real time graphics in that are very impressive and I’ve already seen things that I can learn from that.” – Masahiro Sakurai

You may not cover this game or care that much, but Deadly Premonition is due out in Europe soon.
