No, a 360 patch hasn't been released and yes, Born from a Wish is still in. The 360 game though by default didn't have frame rate or streaming issues (the one that skipped a cutscene) but had every other fault that the patch addressed. Both games can be prone to freezing, though it's random enough but Rombie ran into a specific scenario.

The 360 game is capped at 30fps all the time so you'd never get those 60fps jolts. All they've done with the PS3 version is cap it selectively to make it appear more coherent. Born from a Wish is for example 30fps now, both indoors an outdoors. Before the patch, indoors were 60fps and outdoors varied from 20-60fps.

Whatever version you're thinking of getting, get it now before it's gone though.

EDIT: Oh the MGS4 patch has a full install option apparently.

Yeah, the freezing should be at random, and even has been for me previously having frozen in two other places as well... but clearly something is causing this continuing freeze at the same place in my game. I've put it back on the shelf for now, when I feel better about it I'll start from the start again.

To put this in prespective of how annoyed I am - I platinumed SH2 and Downpour both in pre-patch state even with their problems. However I am just so pissed off at it for now I can't stand going through it again at this time.

What I can say having watched enough SH3 cutscenes now is I think everything is back in sync, what makes it seemingly drift in and out is more the newly recorded voice work doesn't quite match the original sync and it hasn't been changed to match the new voices.

I'll replay MGS4 with a full install and trophies. I wanted to replay it after going through the HD collection anyway. I guess Kojima was so happy with Genki's trophy work on the HD set it finally convinced him to add them to MGS4, even if it was 4+ years late.

That's too bad about the updates to SH collection. I was and still am considering buying one of the versions. (360 or PS3). Guess nothing is better than something???

But thanks for all the impressions SG79 and Rombie!

They're still playable and in 16:9 at least. Freezing is random enough that you may not experience it like myself.

However, if you can get the PS2 originals and play them on a CRT, that's the best option.

Yeah, my grumbling aside, if you don't have access to the PS2 (or PC) versions and want to play it, it's perfectly functionable beyond the patch... SH2 especially, and mostly SH3 barring this freezing they didn't fix.

With Vatra in danger of closure, I'm not holding my breath on the patch anymore. Might as well spend some quality time with the game already, which I do admit was a bit overwhelming due to the pseudo open world type setting.

Ah, you'll be fine. I finished the game completely without the patch. Compared to the HD collection the frame rate problems were nothing.

Lost in the middle of town? Yeah, it is a massively daunting map of a town at first. And if you stopped playing it in there months back, you'll have lost your bearings most likely.

Supposedly they were going to patch the PS3 version but weren't going to do anything about the 360 one, instead they were offing some crappy rebate policy.

Sooooooooo I got a free Vita and I'm wondering if anyone played Army Corps of Hell and if its any good.
