PlayStation Plus Launch Content Revealed (Europe)
http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/8066 ... ed-europe/

PlayStation Plus was announced at Sony's E3 Conference, and slated for a 29th June launch.

Included:
* One free downloadable game
* Two free PS Minis
* One free PS1 Classic.
These will all be yours for the duration of the subscription: after this ends, they lock. If you renew the subscription, they unlock. If you delete them and renew your subscription, you can re-download them at any point.

Discounts- 20-50%
Any content you buy with these discounts is yours to keep. You can subscribe for a month, and in five years, you will still be able to play the content.

Free Content
* Two dynamic themes
* Two premium avatars
* Game Add-Ons
This is all yours to keep forever.

Its also important to note that all this repeats monthy, so every month you get everything listed there and it then happens again for the next month. Nothing erases after each month either. So effectively, if you subscribe for a year you'll end up getting everything listed up there times 12. Do it for a couple years after that, X24, X36....etc. My 500gb hard drive could eventually be filled.
I dont think ill be doing this for the first few months though. The early incentive to join is a full downloadable version of LBP and I already have that.

The real problem is that since the PSP is not compatible with PS Plus (no firmware update announced) it is highly probable that all those "free" PS1 Classics and Minis will be PS3-locked... such a shame.

They wouldnt be locked. Dont know how that would happen/why they would purposely do that.

Sure you wouldnt be able to download them directly from your PSP's store but if you have a PS3, where the service originates from, then once you've downloaded your PS1 games and Mini's you simply plug your PSP into the PS3 and transfer it like normally. I doubt they would lock it to your PS3 system itself, since PSP opperates on the same account aswell.

They havent said either way though, but you would assume since by nature PS1 and Mini games are designed to run on the PSP(Mini's almost entirely invented for the PSP) that there would be a huge backlash against locking it. So I doubt it very much.

And they have almost nothing to gain by locking it. That would in effect show how they dont care about the loyal consumers that own both systems, which they have always completly promoted.

And also, even if you were to have them locked, this could easily be worked around by using remote play. Since you can already existingly (is that a word?) able to play on a PSP.
So I doubt it by... 99% ;)
1% chance for Sony being complete douche bags after offering a service where so much is free.
If they did this then I think we'd see so much internet backlash that they would eventually open it up.
However it is that they supposedly lock and unlock the transfer feature.

Good news, the Classics HD tag on the European boxart of the Sly Colletion indicates that we will be seeing more B-ray Collection of remastered PS2 games.

All over Sly Collection, that is one of the best titles out there to remaster. It'll hold up perfectly and look beautiful. I'd love to see SOTC as well considering the PS2 really held it back. It'd practically be a next-gen title with just some simple clean up and running on better hardware.

To dig a little deeper (and a gen earlier) I feel the Fear Effect series would benefit well from the remake/clean up treatement. It is one of the few where the console really held it back. I'd love to see it in a similar fashion to the Monkey Island remake/s on XBLA.

FYI Playstation Plus is out. Everything they said it does, it does. And confirmed, you can also use it on PSP. Transfering data and also strait downloading from the PSP's store.

Im tempted to get it, mostly because if you do right now you're getting 3 extra months @ 15 months total. But I dont have the cash to lay down just yet. So far ive paid off my PS Move+Nav and am working towards the 360.

In other news, Mr. AxmShenmue will be going through his backlog of games and Platinuming the ones he's missing. Which besides Uncharted 1 and 2 means every game I own minus the rediculous ones that only machines can attempt.

^ I really hope the Ico + SotC collection gets announced soon. I want to play it, and if I go buy both of them on PS2 from Ebay for $100 each, then the collection is announced I'll be really pissed. They need to hurry up and announce it.

Anyways, I know there are fans of the Oddworld games here.

Oddworld Inhabitants have just announced that they are returning to video Game development and are working on a brand new Oddworld game with all the characters from past games in it! :mrgreen: Hopefully they return to 2D side scrolling, but with CGI pre rendered backgrounds this time. That would be godly. :biggrin:
