@Agent_Gundlach I can assure you there are most definitely enemies in the buildings.but you need to trigger events to make them appear,a friend of mine told me he nearly jumped out of his skin during one encounter. The guy does not scare easily! :surprised:

Only about halfway through the game so far. (Just hit the otherworld monastery)

But, its been quite a lot of fun. Its the first time in a looooong time I honestly felt like I was playing a survival horror game again.

Given its not the best game of all time and the combat is pretty lame overall. But on sheer atmosphere, immersion, exploration, creativity and psychological standpoints its exceptionally done.

It honestly keeps me pushing forward to wanna see more of the story while making the journey very rewarding and engaging all throughout.

Again, games far from perfect and I already see it as something I don't see myself replaying too much. But even if it only gives me one playthrough, its a solid and enjoyable experience I have yet to regret.

I had similiar feelings while playing homecoming, however homecoming did bore me at times and was no where near as interesting despite the fact I did enjoy it.

I am almost at the end I think and I must say Vatra games are now official Team Silnet 2! SH Downpour is by far best Silent hill along with SH2. There isn't any other game in the series which comes even little close.

Beat the game today with the best ending then reloaded save to get 2 others and tubed the other 3.

Good game overall in terms of atmosphere, immersion, exploration, psychological horror etc. Story was interesting throughout.

My main two problems were combat and the "overall" story. The combat was just really bad in my opinion. You got jumped by enemies often and if there was more than one, no amount of skill was preventing you from taking hits. Add in that enemy attacks are random with no set pattern and you can block 2-3 hits and let go to attack and get hit by a random 4th hit. Or you brace to block 3-4 and they only do 1-2 so by the time you unblock they're ready to lunge for a new wave of hits.

And....

Spoiler:
Complete lack of actual boss battles on top of the fact a no kill run can so easily be ruined by accident like on the mandatory battles on the elevator where trying to hit one enemy can result in you executing another by accident because its pitch black and you lost your flashlight.....

And as far as story goes, it was all interesting until you piece it together. Then its just incredibly anti-climatic.

It was already obvious what happened half way through the game. The game gives you way too much early on then acts likes it a surprise at the end. And the endings are really boring and meh to me.

Also those chase scenes got so stale and boring. Pethaps if it was an actual entity or monster chasing you and not just some dumb red void, it might have been more impactful.

Anyway, liked the game overall and enjoyed the experience. Just felt kinda meh by the conclusion. I guess I just had my hopes up that the story would really go somewhere and the finale would be worth the journey. But yea :(

Still a good game. Just a bit bummed because I was hoping for sonething more rewarding at the end.

I just recently beat this game, i'm a fan of SH game to, after Resident Evil ;)

SH 1 and 2 are awesome, the atmosphere and monsters are great.
SH 3 and the Room and Homecoming are okay by me.

Downpour suprises me, okay, the monsters are teribble just teribble.
But the game is scary, and the sidequists are fun, i've beaten the game in a hour of 13 or 14.
Mostly i beat this game's in 8 hours.
