It's nifty pulling headshots across a map and I've found myself helping my teammates in all-too-common 1-on-1 skirmishes. It's challenging getting your accuracy up on far off targets, too. I believe that is the appeal of the waiting game (besides the illusion of safety).

I do not condone sitting in once place throughout the whole match, though. Most highly-skilled players circle the map on the regular and pick campers off. It usually comes down to sniping at close range, but either method is fine with me as I will continue to snipe, heh.

This is why I play Team Fortress 2, one of the few first-person shooters which rewards teamwork and frowns upon camping. Plus right now it's free to play, so why are you sitting here still? Go and play it.

Mr. Spencer, not Ms. I am not a female, last time I checked at least. The important thing to realise about TF2 is that it's a team focused game, so it's generally inadvisable to wander off and pretend you're Master Chief. Well, unless you're a Sniper or Spy. Those two classes tend to act more in support roles away from the frontlines. Go through the tutorials and such first, they should give you a good idea. I suggest you choose a class that will be easy to use as a beginner, like the Soldier or Heavy.

Sniper and Spy tend to be more advanced classes, especially Spy since you need to use deception and trickery to outwit your opponents. Start out as the Soldier and learn to rocket jump, you can cover great distances that way. Also try to aim for the enemy's feet, since splash damage is much easier to achieve until you get more experience. If you want you can try being the Medic, which is all about prioritising your patients and knowing when's a good time to make a push. Don't waste your ubercharges, save them for the right time and they can be very effective at leading a push. Ideal friendly targets for ubercharges are Heavies and Pyros.

Actually, the Pyro might be fun to use for you. You can deflect enemy rockets with the alternate fire, but it's ideal for ambushes and close quarters. It also helps to learn how to change weapons quickly as a Pyro, since you'll want to ideally set your target on fire, quickly switch to your Axtinguisher (which scores guaranteed critical hits on burning enemies) and then melee them.

It's a very broad game with plenty of tactics and strategies to learn, every class is unique and different to each other. Different weapon loadouts, different move speeds, different health levels, etc. You'll have a lot of fun if you're willing to invest the time.

Sometimes I feel that MGO is the only thing I have to contribute to a discussion, whether that discussion is about shooters or dating sims.

That's the thing though, no one needs to 'man up'. If someone wants to sit in a corner and camp all day that's up to them. There's no reason they should move if they don't want to. If you want them to move, make it painfully obvious to them that camping isn't going to work on you. 'Force' them to move by outplaying them left and right and punish them for relying on one single tactic and never adapting. Show them how 'useful' camping is in reality.

Don't look at them as inferior for 'hiding'. Especially if you're losing to them. Same thing with a fighter. If someone turtles on the other side of the screen tossing fireballs non-stop and you lose to it..............The other person doesn't need to 'man-up' and 'come at' you. 'You' simply need to learn how to get around the tactic and stop falling for it.

I don't really camp, I keep on the move. But, if someone camps on me, I just deal with it and punish them for it rather than complain that they need to 'man up' and get annoyed with them. If they rely entirely on camping as their strategy to win, I'll simply kill them off their stupid camping zone and take it for myself, then show them how to 'effectively' camp the zone just to spite them.

That's exactly how I look at them. Hardcore campers I mean. There's a difference between camping, and playing defensivly, and I do think people throw around the word "camper" a little too much.
Moving around, being observant, yet taking control of part of a map isn't camping, its being defensive.

Campers, meaning people who sit completely still in a shadowy corner and just wait for people to walk by until they get killed, respawn and go back to their corner, rinse repeat, are out right cowardly in my eyes... I mean really? You pay 60 bucks for a game just to hide in a corner? Play the fucking game already. I don't condone that type of "strategy" at all... it's just weak.

But like I said, don't feed the campers. I rarely have trouble with them in CoD, because I don't allow myself to fall into their trap.
