Square's not doing so well financially so they're pretty much milking what sells to turn a profit.

You only need a PS2 and a PSP(for BbS) to play all games, now get the 3DS to play this, The DS games were more like side stories, but you can play them on the 3DS ^^

Hilariously all thanks to Final Fantasy 14.

Kingdom hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance to be playable in TGS, along with the Theatrhythm Final fantasy and FFXIII-2

Nice! Kingdom Hearts is one of my top three gaming series. Can't wait to see that!

I would be exciting for FFXIII-2. But if the story is as awful as it's predecessor...well then I won't ever get excited...

Hilariously all thanks to Final Fantasy 14.

And Final Fantasy XIII, which was quite possibly one of the worst games I've ever watched someone else play.

Thankfully.

FF14 did play a big role in it but, they were hurting prior to even FF13. And FF13 has a nice story and some likable chars, it's just the game itself that is just dreadfully boring. I found myself skipping every possible battle and only fighting ones I 'had' to fight to just try and bulldoze through it and watch the story.

But, by the time I get to Barthandelus 2nd fight on disc 3, I'm underleveled now and even though I can 'not die', I'm not strong enough to kill him before he casts Doom on me. So I get stuck spending 45 minutes fighting him, get him down to like 10% health, and then die because of Doom. It's lame.

And I don't have the patience or care to go back and 'grind' for levels to be able to beat him. So i'm essentially stuck very close to the endgame and unable to complete it.

But, in any event, Square's been hurting for awhile. FF and KH are the only two franchises they own that are real money makers for them, and even FF12/13/14 were met with lukewarm receptions to begin with. Dissidia made good sales, but, that's good sales for a PSP game, not good sales in general considering more people have a DS than a PSP. Dissidia Duodecim was lukewarm as well.

Third Birthday was virtually under the radar of all but existing PE fans. And then their stuff like Last Remnant which sold decently but wasn't a huge financial or critical success, wasn't helping things either.

What? You may not have liked it, but that game sold a lot.

Which is why we're getting FF XIII-2. To capitalize on the people that bought XIII. They don't even have to design that many new assets, so it a big win for them.
