They killed Resident Evil, they killed Mega Man, all the amazing IPs from Clover Studios dead, Onimusha dead, the only thing they care is street fighter games and block buster videogames.

I sincerely hope you're being sarcastic here. No company has supported franchises, as in milk them, as much as Capcom even with poor debuts. Case in point, Okami: two versions of the first and despite poor sales, they went with a sequel on DS.

RE is far from dead and it remains their main cash cow. Also, MM got good support via digital downloads over the past few year. SF ironically is the franchise that got the boot in 1999 and didn't make a comeback until 2008.

As far as MML3 goes, it likely hit a development hell phase that would've likely rendered it unprofitable in the long term.

Actually MML3 was in fine shape in it's progress. Problem lies in the fact Capcom these days are full of idiots. Sorry but RE Rev was akick to the balls this new Raccon City looks balls Bionic COmmando was balls DmC looks balls. They keep that shit over MM one of thier biggest IP's. No I'm done with Capcom. It was a great run but I signed the divorce papers and it was a bitter one. It's no wonder the best and brightest has left Capcom.
As someone who is member here told me today. Capcom now makes 2003 Sega look like early 90's Sega.

Ok first off Yea actually every company has a few games they support just to try and re-introduce it into the market, Square-enix does it every so often by releasing a SaGa or Mana game in the states, even tried with Front Mission, Sega does it all the time throwing out a game like shinobi (which is getting a 3ds game) every few years as well. Capcom isn't exclusive in trying to make a brand stronger. (Its also unfair to compare since Okamiden wasen't really up to snuff when it comes to sequels and there were a number of shortcuts taken with the port of okami)

Reasident Evil isn't dead, I agree, we'll likely start hearing about Resident Evil 6 in the next year or so, and we've just got Mercs 3d and Revelations in a few months, so theres reason to be happy with that.

SG, thats not the case, there was a lot to the game, most of the heavy lifting was done, there was a character, there was physics, collision detection, areas, enemies, ai. There was a lot of work done in only a few months and a lot of it was fan driven. In terms of art, design and even easter eggs it was all done by fans which gave the actual team time to focus on hings like getting the game running, which it does. By all accounts the game could be released atleast in the demo capacity. also when looking at the QA and the reasons it was cancelled nothing technical was stated, this wasn't about how much the game cost.

That's the problem supported, as in milk them, is doing a disfavour to that franchises. RE is not dead, obviously sells millions but from the classic RE perspective is DEAD, till they can prove me worng.

Oh come on, let's not compare Capcom style milking to anything any other company has done. Hell, in the 90's, VF was on hiatus from 96 to 2001. Whereas Capcom was out in full force then, and still is with milking (how many RE and versions of the games we got from 96-99? 6)

That was my speculation on MML3's situation that lead to cancellation, so who knows what happened. All I know that fan involvement was something I snickered at and expected a cancellation eventually.. I really should've put money on it

I just assumed it was because Inafune left. I had kinda been waiting for this.

Reactions like these are kinda funny, to me. It's not like Capcom cancelled the game for the sake of pissing fans off. However, I can understand the frustration. Since Universe was cancelled too.

Though I've seen some fans recently thinking that spamming the capcom unity blog posts will bring back the game... it frankly only annoys the rest of the users who haven't played MM/don't care.
