AA was a great game, just the boss battles were mostly 'meh'. The only actual 'fun' and 'interesting' fight was against Poison Ivy. And the final fight was just plain stupid and boring overall. I 'get it' and all, but, it still was just yawn worthy.

Other than that though, gameplay was solid, story was solid, and the voice acting was top notch. AC looks to be better in almost every way and I'm looking forward to it. Only thing I'm unhappy about is that Arleen Sorkin finally called it quits on Harley and Tara Strong is now doing her voice :( I love Tara Strong but no one can do Harley like Arleen can.

Honestly the combat system in the game doesn't get enough credit, it's very easy to pick up and feel in control of Batman's attacks but if you really want to master it, it takes practice and lots of it.

It did get the appropriate amount of credit I'd say. It does the job well to set a seamless cinematic pace. But I drew the line when I heard people, and some reviewers, say that it's standard setting that action games like DMC and NG etc. should follow. Although NT's DmC may be just that.. yeah, I went there (that piece of crap is looking like DMC2 on crack).

Adjusting to the input lag of the game is half the battle with the combat missions for me. Now the stealth missions are another matter... I just don't have the patience so I'm still at 75% completion rate with the trophies since 2009.

The reason I said it didn't get enough credit personally, is while there have definently been copycat games out there and lots of critical review in the positive, but everytime I post how good it was for a while I'd get some asshat replying saying that it was too simple and straightforward and not challenging enough. And of course I'd have to say then they're probably button bashing and not actually giving it a proper run, because of course those challenge maps are not a cakewalk.

I do agree that it's definently not a standard setting that action games should have, but for the world of any comic superhero, Batman especially, it's the best you can get.

I know what you mean about the input lag, but after playing the challenge maps for so long, I kinda start to think it's intentional in order to give you enough time to make decisions on attacks and counters - and you get very used to it.

Ikari - Yeah, the bosses in the original are defientnly the weak point of the game. The majority of them play exactly the same and the games last boss entirely is a real stinker.

I could get it Friday as well but I'll get a $30 gaming coupon where I work plus my discount if I buy it on release there so I'll just wait I think.

The $30 gaming coupon I might just save for UMvC3 and then I'll only have to pay $10 for it.

WB has a contest similar to the RE5 offer. Get as many friends as you can to visit your personal url and there is a pretty decent prize to be had. Here's my url. Go get yours as well. Can't win if you don't play, as the old saying goes.

Hallelujah, I'm getting it tomorrow.. but won't be able to play it until Sat

The better news for Canadians is that WB is setting the MSRP at $59.99 FINALLY. Since late last year, their games were priced at $69.99 for some bizarre reason. CE pricing is still $99.99 but frankly, unless you really want that statue, it's lackluster (likewise for that U3 one).

Ironically, I had to go to the hospital having hurt my back.. luckily, it's just a muscular issue so I'm doped as I type this

On the upside, I'm playing AS right now. The reviews are spot on so far and I have to say that the atmosphere is better than ever and nothing feels disjointed. Looks superb for a UE3 game, and it's well ahead of AA. The VA is just as good as ever with guard conversations being more entertaining than ever.

Spoiler:
I had to laugh when one of them asked "have you heard the rumour?", "what? that Harley was a dude?"
