Anyway, Ikari, I was giving it some thought: Even though you may not like the high tier characters, you should learn Sentinel.
It'll help in the long run. I think Sent drones assist would help your Spiral/BH game. Just start with Spiral and focus on trap patterns with sentinel and Blackheart's assists.
And you learn what his gameplan is because you'll have been using it.

The thing about MvC2 is that you should probably learn the game using the better characters, and then move onto the more interesting/lesser used characters when you get a better grasp on the game. That's what I did, and I got better (I'm still not good, just kind of competent).

Thanks, but, that's one of the things I 'dislike' about MvC2. Is that the majority of people on the game require Sent, Cable, or Storm on their team in order to win. I find that just really boring. I know what you meant by learning Sent 'then' going back to my original team. I just find Sentinel boring to play. I've used him before and I know the basics with him, including flying with him and how to trap with his drone assist with BH or Spiral on point. I'm obviously not even close to 'Pro' but, regardless.

Shuma/Blackheart/Spiral is what makes the game fun for me win or lose so. I appreciate the suggestions none the less. I'm aware of what my opponents games revolve around and what they can do and what to expect when facing them.

I learn best hands on. So, fighting all the Cables, Sentinels, Storms, Magneto's etc. online with my team is the best way for me to learn how to effectively use them offensively and defensively against those chars to beat them. And that's what I've been doing.

Lastly on a slightly different note, I notice some combo's, especially by spiderman I cannot block worth anything. This one guy used this one combo launcher REPEATEDLY on me last night with Spiderman, and the night before an Amingo player did one too. Both blocking and down/blocking did nothing to prevent him from landing it repeatedly while I was stuck in the corner over and over and over and over until I died. Couldn't block it, couldn't summon an assist, couldn't tag out, couldn't use a move, couldn't Super jump. Anything I tried just left me open to take the hit, including blocking. The second I got pushed into the left hand corner it was over.

I even tried blocking the first hit and down/blocking the second hit and so forth and vice versa. Nothing worked. I ALWAYS got hit by the first hit and then launched. I'm able to block most other chars but these two really just were impossible to block for some reason and I just got looped into combo after combo. What exactly am I missing?

No, Ikari. Take my advice. Just try it at least. It's not going to hurt you to choose another character.

Did you get double snapped? Or was it just laggy and you couldn't block (this DOES happen online)?

^Yeah but, I've played Sent before, many times with BH on the team. I have tried him, as well as Magneto and Storm too. And by 'try', I mean actually played with quite a few times. I'll see what I can do though.

And as far as more info goes. I was destroying the other two players the whole match until I got pushed into the left corner and then they did a combo which launched me and then just kept repeating it the second I fell to the floor. I tried high blocking, and low blocking since obviously I had many opportunities to try since they kept looping it until I died. Nothing worked. I couldn't do anything. Couldn't even get Spiral to teleport out of the way before she hit the floor like usual because they kept just jumping into the combo that I couldn't block for anything and I'm really not sure why.

Like I was down blocking and saw spidermans foot kick me right next to the floor for example, like his foot was barely an inch off the floor, it was aiming at my shins if I was standing, and it still connected. I tried standing blocking the same thing the next loop and got hit by it as well.

When Spiderman is coming back down make sure to block high, not low. It also crosses up, so block the right way. Combo averted. Won't say that combo never caught me though, because at first it did lol.

Edit: If you are literally hitting the ground, roll.

Glad to see Capcom is going to make is easier for me to play matches free of rage quitters and people with bad connections.

Wish they thought out MvC2 online a bit more. BTW, I notice quitters on 360 get a loss (pretty sure?) while they don't on PS3, making the online on PS3 even more annoying. Hell, quitting should award a loss and win to the opponent, for the few connection problems that occur big deal. I'd play ranked all day if this were to be the case, as it is I get quit on after the first few triangle jumps like 2/3 the time.

I have like 140+ wins or something on Ranked. Whenever someone quits I just move on to the next match. I don't really worry about it.
