It was during Curleh Mustache a few weeks ago, wasn't from Winter Brawl, but, either way. It's somewhere in the mid to mid-end of the video that you start hearing some idiot calling him a cheapass etc. and getting super salty yelling at Chris for how he's playing. Although the commentators (I believe Yipes is the main one and the one who sings) spend a LOT of time calling him Lame, rooting for Marlin and even singing a very annoying 'lame' song about Chris. But, the audience guy cursing him out, you really gotta listen for, it's really background'ish and easy to miss. I remember watching it and hearing his comments and was like 'wait, is some douche being salty?' and then listening harder and hearing his scrubby tears spew forth.

Sorry I couldn't give you a more precise time on when it takes place, it's a 30 minute video and I don't feel like rewatching it just to find it for you lol.

They call it 'lame' but they're not actually calling the playstyle lame. At this point it's almost a synonym for stuff that's hard to get aroud like that.

Ever heard of being 'lamed out'? Sorta like that.

But people should have been expecting that since Chris has been lauding Morrigan as a top 5 character since Ultimate came out.

TBH I was also rooting for MarlinPie, not because I favor rushdown over another playstyle, but because I wanted to see if he was skilled enough to play Ikaruga inside a fighter. Seems like he was.

Lol if you saw the video, Yipes and whatnot were going on about how 'Lame' it was the entire time, even singing a song about it. They were getting rather salty about it in a professional manner. I'm familiar with the 'laming' 'lamed out' slogans. But, the term in of itself is coined to say the playstyle is 'lame'. Even if people accept it, they don't respect it. And yes, I was interested to see if Marlin could beat it and glad he was able to overcome it. Though since I'm from the East Coast originally, I was rooting for ChrisG :)

Ended up facing ChrisG in the SCV tourney, was on the verge of a perfect and got rung out by his Hilde rushing in for the last hit. We both looked at each other and laughed, because it was so unlikely how it unfolded. Had to be there, see if there is a stream backlog of it.

In regards to the tourney I felt really good prior as I played casuals with most of the better players there and came away with a lot of sets. The one player that gave me legit match up trouble was my first match though, which sent me to losers and then there was that ChrisG match. Kind of got pool of death'd and some unlucky breaks, but that's how it goes sometimes. Happens to everyone, even the best. I'll definitely be playing in some future tourneys though along with EVO. Biggest thing was playing casuals for hours with all of the good players though, there was a lot I learned in both match ups and actual tactics and gimmicks. One thing to watch, another to actually play competitively. So much is soaked up so quickly. Felt good to be back in the scene competitively, lot of good people met along the way too.

Haha, cool that you got to meet Chris :) He seems like a cool guy.

And Props on your run in the tourney. Sorry you didn't win but glad you had a lot of fun. I wish I was good enough to compete but, that's just not the case lol.

I actually know him from the CvS2 days at CF, he played some really unique teams and was a complete monster at the game. He also participated in an SCII weekly I held, don't think he got too far though. IIRC it wasn't really his cup of tea but we all had a good time with it. Definitely a cool dude, plays pretty much anything. Have something ready for him next time though, haha. Good times.
