You must mean Adel, most players do have a problem with her as she's quite the magic monster. Her Meteor is not to be taken lightly.

As for the Zell video, I've not watched (I can't at the moment) but I can imagine what it is, Zell's limit break has an infinite combo loop, I think it's O - X then < - >, the commands will keep looping back to each other and if you're fast enough you can just keep getting free hits in.

Ah yes, I've used Zell's, but I never was a fan of it, since I was always too slow with the commands lol. I wasn't aware that Selphie's Limit Break was "The End" though, I thought it was something else, but I can't remember what...

Selphie's limit break is "Slots", she can either use random magic you can normally find around the game or a few special ones, those being:

Full-Cure (Self explanatory)
Rapture ('Removes' enemies from battle, won't work on bosses and stuff)
Wall (Protect/Shell/Cure.. I think)
The End (Kills any enemy, no exceptions)

Full-Cure is pretty common, Rapture and Wall aren't as common and The End is rarely ever seen unless you're deliberately looking for it. I rarely use Selphie from disc 1 onwards so I've only had the first two, I can say I've never used Wall or The End in FFVIII, ever. I prefer to kill things properly and with strategies rather than just luck anyway.

There are two other limit breaks too, Percent and Catastrophe, which never made it to the final cut of the game. I don't think it's been said what they did but it's a nice bit of trivia I guess.

Lol so you actually fought them? I used GFs the entire game pretty much, since my attacks were always weak...

When I was younger I used to spam GF's a lot too, but I've since learned that Junctioning rules all in this game, actually no, cards rule all. Carding monsters does, card mod makes your characters into absolute monsters.

When doing a casual run of this game, I'll save up some Gil and buy a hell of a lot of Tents just after the SeeD exam and before the Timber mission, then I'll use Siren's L-Mag Ref to convert them into Curagas, which gives my characters in the region of 3000HP at level 10.

That's how broken Junctioning can be if you use it right. You can even go to sillier levels, such as getting Holy in the Fire Cavern, how? Well, each enemy can be carded, say if you card a Bomb it'll give you a Bomb card. Well on a rare occasion you might obtain a 'rare' card, in the Bomb's case being the Krysta card.

However, if you already have 100 Bomb cards the game'll have no choice but to give you the rare card, and Krysta cards refine into Holy. That's if you have the patience of a saint though, I do know someone who's done it.

The junction system sounds awesome, even though it's broken, it sounds like you can become quiet a beast early on.

I refuse to acknowledge the existence of Zell.
Final Fantasy VIII is viewed as one of the easiest Final Fantaies mainly because of the Junction System, Triple Triad, and, of course, how easy it is to get Limit Breaks. KO one of your party members, use Phoenix Down, and every enemy is screwed.

I honestly think triple triad is what makes the game so broken lol.

I didn't even do all the complicated stuff like using the card game to get 100 triples or Lionheart on disc one, I just got most of the character cards and the Laguna card and boom, every boss fight was easy because of the 100 heroes.

Though I always have a hard time actually giving up the cards I win for items. :(

I agree, I loved FF8 to death, but never could understand Triple Triad, it sort of ruined the experience for me. That and how when I got to the final boss I only had like a max of 300 health for each character since I didn't know how to increase health (I noticed that most people who played the game had like 5000 health in videos and stuff).

I really don't see how that is possible considering every character's base health goes up to at least 2000. Even Selphie who has the lowest base health (I believe).

Also Squall's lionheart ability if you can get it to activate is basically an instant kill on all bosses it does so much damage.

Oh yeah, my health was at like 1000 - 2000 for each character, that's what I meant to say.
