Lol I changed it from Final Fantasy to just RPGs in general. Should be fun to read what people have to say...

So here, we'll discuss anything RPG related. Favorite games, Hated games, the best characters/magic/weapons to use, etc. Any RPG can be discussed here. Hell, I invite people to create "tier lists" for RPGs they've played and either agree or debate them.

To continue off the discussion that was arising in the E3 thread, in terms of storyline one can argue that FF X was unpolished, but in terms of gameplay...hell being a fighting game fan like myself and being accustomed to broken shit, I have to say the game play in X is fun as hell and definitely polished. All I will say is this, in FF X all you need is to max out Yuna, Wakka, Lulu, and Tidus. Then you will have the 4 best characters in the game that can literally dominate anything that walks. Yuna is seriously so retarded. Having the summons is one thing, but having a summon whom you can pay to KILL bosses? Obtaining gil is not really that hard either, so have fun earning money just to breeze through bosses. Second best, easily Wakka. He has enough to pretty much rape everything in the game. Third best is kinda subjective, Lulu. She's arguably better than Tidus because of her overdrive: Fury. If one is fast enough to rotate the analog stick 16 times...that's pretty much 99,999 x 16. Easily more than Tidus' 9 hit Blitz Ace. Tidus is just solid Upper Mid, definitely a good person to have on a team. Honestly, I'd just put Auron, Rikku, and Khimari all at the bottom. They're not bad, but compared to those 4, they're pretty much useless imo...

As for Final Fantasy VIII...God, Squaresoft must've had a grudge against enemies in FF for some odd reason, because they seriously gave you literally every advantage you could to rape enemies in this game. In all hoensty, this is probably one of the few FFs out there where literally everyone on your team is good. Granted, this game of course has it's "top 3" (Squall, Zell, Rinoa), but nonetheless it's recommended that everyone level up.

Oh...and Selphie > Yuna simply because while Yuna has to PAY Yojimbo to kill bosses, Selphie does it for free. All that's needed is Aura/low health, and 255 luck (very easily obtained). Bam, her limit break "The End", which literally means that. Kills everything in the game.

Final fantasy, definitely the best rpg series ever made. my favorite in the series has to be FF tactics on the ps1. great story, great gameplay, and some really crazy difficultly at many points. the psp remake would be my favorite version but i think the sound lag kills it for me.

and while were on the subject of rpg's i've been getting my ass handed to me by persona 4. that's what i get for playing on expert right off the bat lol.

I think I got Selphie's "The End" move once, by far the most hilarious attack I've ever seen, it was like the end to a cheesy romance flick.

Though I thought Irving was better then Zell? Course, I never used Zell much...his giant face tatoo was ugly. Bad reason to not use someone I know, but still XD.

Definitely, as you've missed out on arguably the best character in the game. Max out Zell and have quick reflexes (again, same as Lulu) and you can deal more damage to a boss than Squall maxed out with Renzokuken and Lion Heart. Selphie on the other hand...I can't even give her a tier. Technically, she's really the "best" character, but definitely bannable status.

Selphie looks like a giant pear in that yellow skirt, I can see why she's the best if you have that high luck stat though..."The End" even works on bosses?

And that would explain why I never thought Zell was good, my reflexes have never been the best, in any game.

Fire Emblem 8 is just overall broken as hell. Since when do Knights max out speed and Social knights max out DEF.

Baten Kaitos, great game. Hard as hell, card system thats not annoying. Probably two of the best stories in the past 10 years.

Thats all I can think of right now.

I'm not the biggest RPG fan in the world...the first RPG i ever bothered with FF7 (OMG!!1! SEVEN HOURS OF GAMEPLAY ACROSS THREE DISCS11!) and was constantly confused with all the battles i was getting into when there was nothing near me on screen

None the less, i downloaded it from the PSN this past week (i downloaded a few games this week to catch up on what i've missed lately) to give it another whirl. If i don't enjoy it like i did back in the day, it's still good to have it back for pure nostalgia purposes.

Put it like this, the hardest boss in FF 8 "Omega Weapon", can be killed by The End.
