I downloaded and played the trial - very good, competent game. Didn't get the full game because I needed money for my Vita purchase, but I'll definitely be picking it up at some point. Reading some of the stories on Gaf make it sound like the sort of game you'll be going back to for years.

Second fastest selling game in XBLA history as well.

Bought it yesterday. Haven't gotten too far. Spent 4 hours on Gotham City Imposters witj a friend prior to playing this so I didnt have the stamina to dig in deep.

Only got to the first "real" community/Base.

Game is fun though not entirely what I expected. Will probably get better as time goes on. But I feel the gameplay is slightly unpolished. Zombies run into walls and get stuck often, flashlight is terribly off focused making it abysmal to actually see at night time and having to bring up a menu to switch weapons in real time is pretty jarring when your weapon breaks mid fight and youre being swarmed.

And controls seem clunky at times and not the greatest for combat in their setup. It just doesnt feel as natural as other games.

And a lot of stuff is extremely context sensitive in how you can interact with it. In the really badly designed way of only getting prompts to interact when facing at very specific angles. Which can make finding searchable salvage a pain.

I'm confident the game will get more interesting in time. But I do feel slightly dissapointed mostly due to my own personal expectations for how the game would handle the various things it claimed were possible.

But I just need to learn to enjoy it for what it is and not for what it isnt.

Believe me, fun game. Just feeling it lacks polish.

I would have downloaded this day one, though its a bit too close to The Last of Us for me to warrant a purchase. Perhaps down the road.
