I've been intrigued since they showed it at E-3, looks sleek and very polished. Also I have an Elite with nearly an entire 120GB's doing nothing, so installing games is a plus. It'll be something to draw me to the console a bit more and help compliment some of my upcoming X360 purchases (SO4, L4D)

Anything to make either system better by March 13th is a positive. Should help make the experience of both BH5 versions somewhat unique. BH5-themed Home Space, playing off of the HDD on X360, etc.

Yeah Microsoft said with emails they were sending out telling people they'd gotten into the preview that if they had put it on any other friends machines that they were definitely going to be locked out until November 19th. If you don't want to take my word for it, there's a (last i checked) six page thread full of people on the 'gaf who've taken the plunge.

Edited my post above, added a link and some more. The article is going to keep me from doing so, I can wait. While I do take your word for it, it isn't November 19th yet and you never know what can happen. It is Microsoft after all, they don't even seem to want people's $50.00 anymore. :P

Someone on the site that i downloaded the update from has posted a message this evening...So yeah, that's another side to the story i guess. Personally, and i know i'm bound to say it seeings as i've downloaded and installed the NXE, but i think a lot of the talk about 360's being banned for life is just scaremongering on the part of the people too scared to update but jealous of those that have. Or, for the likes of Joystiq or Destructoid, wanting to say on Microsoft's good side so are advising against people updating on the sly.

That's just how i see it anyway. Don't get me wrong, i can definitely see the concerns of people that aren't so keen to rush into things at this stage, but the scaremongering from some websites annoys me, that's all. Microsoft aren't about to ban people for life when there could be just as many people with the dash because their friend wanted to share it, knowing full well that Microsoft have said you'll be disconnected from Live until November 19th.

Hot damn! I'm so happy I decided to go for the Xbox 360 on Black Friday. I almost bought the PS3 b/c of MGS4 but in the end felt Left 4 Dead and Gears of War 2 would be so much more fun. Now HOPEFULLY...I'll get the best of both worlds.

I really hope MGS4 doesn't come to the 360.

I doubt this VERY seriously. The MGS hardcores already bought a PS3 to play MGS4 at the game's launch or beforehand.

I don't think one game that's already been released is going to make or break Sony. I like the PS3, but it's in a shitty position right now, with both competitors seriously undercutting them from a price standpoint, and Sony can't tie down crucial 3rd party exclusives.
