I've played this game for a few hours when it came out but haven't had a chance to play it yet. To be more accurate I watched people play it, like I usually do with games. The iPod is a winner.

Spoiler:

I like how Snake sees that guy crapping and really likes the barrel. Rolling is awesome. That guy sucks.

So glad everyone is loving it. It truely is one of the all time best games I have played. The best game I have played since RE4, this game has me in a frenzy just like RE4 did. I am almost done with my 3rd playthrough and going to my fourth (going to try no alert no kill next).

So anyone want to play MGO. I will be on soon, my name is Wesker. You can only add friends when they are online, which is stupid. Well now you know I will be online for a few hours, search my name and add me. Send me a mail so I know you are on.

MGS seems like a really cool series, and I want to start playing it. Where should I start? (P.S. I have a ps2 and a wii, don't suggest MGS4). From what I've seen, MGS has really good soundtracks. Afterall, MGS4 love theme is the second best song in SSBB! The first being Mother (Onett) of course.

Don't know if anyone have tried it already, but just got a Dualshock 3 today, And I've read that something else happens if you use a D3 during the cutscene with Psycho Mantis, since Dualshock 3 has a rumble function...

Does anyone play Metal Gear: Online then?

I'm tempted to get stuck in, just don't want to bother if i'm going to go online and find the game deserted!

So this game is getting trophy support in August! Pretty sweet right?

Also i recently bought the HD collection for the ps3, but I'm not sure how I should play the games. I've never played a Metal Gear game before, so what do you guys think? I could go chronological with

MGS3
Peace Walker
MGS1
MGS2
MGS4

or I could do release

MGS1
MGS2
MGS3
MGS4
peace walker.

I don't have the MGS1, but I'm thinking about getting it off the psn store, or getting Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes; the remake for the gamecube? Which one is better?

Let me know what you die-hard fans think.

And sorry for the 4 year bump. :)

I posted it in the PS thread, but the game will have a full install option too.

Personally, I'd take MGS1 over TTS any day. TTS had shoehorned MGS2 gameplay into the exact settings as MGS1 so it ended up being extremely easy. The graphics aren't as good as MGS2 and the soundtrack is inferior to both MGS1 and 2.

If you don't mind playing pixelated PS1 era fully realtime games, then you'll enjoy it.

I concur with MGS PS original over Twin Snakes. It's not that TS is horrible exactly, there is some good in there, but the original is just better overall to me.

I also suggest you start with it and follow in release order. While the prequel set stories setup events in later games, it's far more rewarding having the events unfold in the release order. Because of course Kojima made changes as the games went on and didn't pre-plan.

Unless you want to play the copies of MG and MG2 MSX ports in the MGS3 HD set, then start with those and then go from MGS through the rest of the release order.

Additionally if you're on the PSN, search for the Metal Gear Database, it's an official application for the PS3 which has the background canon for the franchise in an encyclopedia format. As you eventually play through MGS4 it unlocks more files.

I'll check into that Database. Thanks for the input.
