Tomb Raider explores the origin story of Lara Croft and her ascent from a frightened young woman to a hardened survivor.

Setting out to "make her mark", Lara travels on the ship Endurance commanded by Conrad Roth. When the ship is struck by a violent storm and split in two, Lara and many other survivors are stranded on an isolated tropical island in the Dragon's Triangle. Lara has to find food and water to survive, fighting off the more dangerous animal inhabitants and trying to trace the other survivors. But a darker threat awaits as she is forced to harden herself against killing people in order to fight a group of malevolent mercenaries who seek to kill her and her companions.

So have you guys picked up the reboot? I'm currently about 80% through the game and absolutely love it. I was very skeptical at first, but the game has blown me away, it's dark, mature, violent and gritty, just what this series needed. That being said, it does borrow a lot from Uncharted, mostly in the gameplay aspects, but the story and characterisation is much better than that of Uncharted. Lara Croft is certainly back and hopefully here to stay this time.

Also, I will cut any of you bitches who say Lara is the female Nathan Drake.

Not long got home from town with a copy - traded in RE6 and Far Cry 3 (this is not goodbye, my true love) and got it for 99p. Given it a quick 20 minute blast and it plays brilliantly, looking forward to playing more. Loved getting lost (and distracted) on Far Cry 3's island so hoping for more of the same here!

Also - Lara is the female Rick Dangerous. Let's just put that our there right now. Rick was the man.

I think you got it backwards, Nathan Drake is the male Lara Croft. she's been raiding tombs since before he was a sparkle in someone's eye.

I definitely plan on picking this up soon, Lara's new look suits her.

What ? Lara did it first. If anyone was copying anyone it was Nathan Drake.

The game is brilliant, really loving it. Playing it on PC.

I don't think that anyone should expect it to be like uncharted. There are a few times when scripted events happen, but the levels are not linear. You can revisit places (and you should) and there's lots to see/explore/do.

I'd say more, but I could be playing it right now instead, so... that's what I'm going to do.

The laziest way possible of describing it is that it's an open world Uncharted.
